For those who don't like a lot of PG, there are ways to boost the throat hit a bit. I've tried adding a few drops of vodka to the juice, also just a drop or two of apple cider vinegar in the tank works. More than that and you can taste the vinegar, but it does work.

Interesting . . . I will fill an empty dropper bottle up with some of the said. It's worth a try, as I use a 50/50 mix and am dropping my nic level, as well. Thank you for sharing that.

it's a combo for sure

but also think a factor is the type/flavor of juice you get as well (and the vendor)

fruity flavors are not going to give you as good of TH as tobacco's will..

50/50 blend of fruit will not be as harsh as a 50/50 blend of tobacco
(currently using both of these in 2 tanks and the tobacco gives me a monster TH but the fruit one is very mellow)

80/20 of the same fruit juice I have a bit better on TH but still not as much as I normally enjoy

Its pretty much all based on nic, however VG tends to mute, so higher PG levels allow you to feel the nic. 100% pg with no nic wont feel like anything.

This is exactly on the mark. Nic provides 90% or more of throat hit. PG lets more through and VG mutes it to a degree. If you were to vape straight PG, there would be no throat hit. And additives do not provide throat hit like nic does. Some provide throat irritation or burning, but not throat hit associated with nicotine.

Throat hit is subjective. I don't care for anything that makes my throat feel anything past the sensation of inhaling. That's light throat hit. If it makes my throat tickle and produces an urge to cough, it's too much. I vape 24mg 100% PG most of the time and 80/20 occasionally. It's various flavorings and additives that make the difference in light or heavier throat hit.

100% VG is generally too thick for most atomizers at 100%, although many add a couple of drops of water to thin it. Some add pure grain alcohol and various other additives for throat hit. Nic is a contributor, too. We all have our own ideas about what's just right.

Alcohol present in certain vanilla, chocolate, jamaican rum, brandy and other food grade flavorings USED in eliquids contribute to TH also. Some vendors use alcohol in small amounts to aid the wicking of their "100%" VG juice (which isn't exactly 100%).

Nicotine, pg %, air flow and alcohol all are variables contributing to TH.

If you were to vape straight PG with some alcohol in it you would still have 0 throat hit. Many of us tested this a few years ago and all came to the same conclusion.

And there's a lot of people who vape plain old PG with nic and like it for a tobacco flavored juice. I'm fond of Dekang Tobacco and I believe that's exactly what it is. It's just a vague touch of sweetness with good vapor ... kind of like an ultra light. It's my all day vape most days.
