Question about USPS Shipping

Hello, I am waiting for a package to arrive. I've been following the tracking page here https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction.action the ref # is 9405510200829524223810 Last night it was saying that delivery was expected today the 22nd. However this morning it now says tomorrow the 23rd. I see that it is already at the post office which is 1/2 mile from my house. My question is, if I call them, would they let me come pick it up today? Has anyone done this before?

I've done it, they helped me. I imagine it would depend on how busy they are, but I would definitely give it a try; They should help you out.

USPS always says "out for delivery" a full day before it's actually delivered for me.

I know one time I missed a delivery that required signature and they wouldn't let me pick it up till the next day

USPS, at least in my area, is the worst service ever. I ordered a package from a vendor here and it was listed as delivered for 2 weeks. USPS said that it was in my house. The vendor then got the package back. It wasn't the vendors fault and they even threw in some free juice for the hassle but still it was annoying. I still order from the vendor all the time I just pick Fedex and pay a little extra.

The only answer I can give you from experience is maybe. Post offices are different in every area and I've found that it really depends on the "worker" behind the desk.

I do it all the time, but it really depends on two things:
1. Your local postmaster's policies
and,
2. whether or not you can get to the post office before they load the truck for your route.

People that live in smaller towns are much more likely to be successful.

my post office never allows me to go in and get a package unless i have a pink slip they leave. they always give me some .... about how its not processed yet.

I had just posted the other day about USPS not delivering my juice in a timely fashion... I will be going the FedEx route from now on.
