Question about wick/coil for new Reomizer

I am going to get one but till I get used to it I will use a pre wound wick/coil probably from Avid or my local shop has some in 2 ohm
Avid gives a choice from 1.5 to 3 ohm
Not sure which to get for my mini 2.0

Uncle Rob said I could use these.

I'd say 1.5 but that is just my preference. Actually, my preference is 0.7 ohm.

It is not that tough to make coils. Do your reading on the threads and you will know just what to buy.
Most use kanthal wire 28-34 gauge. You can buy small amounts of each, reosmods has some. Test a few and see what fits the ohms you want.

Wicks are personal preference. I use cotton usually. Again you can buy small amounts and see what you like.

I like coils from 1-1.5 on my mechanical REO's. You will just have to try different ohms and see what hits your sweet spot.

If this is your first RBA, I would go with silica at least in the beginning. I remember how awesome cotton tasted, but the first few weeks I kept forgetting to squonk it in time and burnt about 3-4 wicks per day. It got frustrating a bit.

30-32 gauge is easiest to work with, I think. It's sturdy enough to stay in place, but you don't have to build an overly large coil with the tick 28ga wire.

I would recommend those to start with until you get more comfortable, and then definitely play with other materials and wires.

I'd give one of the 2ohms a try, since its local. Less then 1.8 is too much for me. I used to use 1.5 attys and dual coil cartos. These RBA's are just stronger. Winding coils is easy. It's mounting them that gets me.
