Question about wide bore tips

I was looking at some wide bore drip tips, because I love the airflow that i get from the one that comes with the tobeco mutation x clone. However, when shopping around I noticed that sometimes the bore is only wide at the top, and seems to be as restrictive as "regular" (for lack of a better word) drip tips where the tip meets the atty. ex:

Will this still give better airflow if its wide at the top and narrow at the bottom?

probably not but those are a lot easier to drip into if you don't want to pop the cap off. i have a couple of those i use with drippers with 5/64" air holes and they provide exactly the right draw for my "regular dripping". for denser clouds i use something like this DaTouch Customs Muzzle Drip Tip - Vape Tribe . the OD is standard size but the ID is as big as it gets, serious volume.

Well, dt's certainly affect the vape. Temperature dissipation, for sure, and I find they change the TH and, to a lesser effect, flavour. It's not as simple as bore, however, as length is also important.

If you are looking for a good, economical wide bore dt, here's a good one that many use...

Cloud | Chaser | Drip | Tip | Fogging | Vaping | Gear | Cherry Vape

It doesn't use an o-ring for fit, so is not as narrow as other dt's.

I've been thinking about picking up one of these: Cloud | Chaser | Drip | Tip | Fogging | Vaping | Gear | Cherry Vape
$10 isn't bad.

As for tips affecting the vape, yes they do. I'm not sure about the bore but I know if one of my builds is hotter than I like, a longer tip with a standard bore helps to cool it down and does seem to focus the flavor a bit more. I don't really do lung hits though.

If you're going to drill out a tip, remember that there's a cutout for where the o-ring goes, so the walls may not be as thick as you really think they are.

Does the name "drip tip" imply that I'm supposed to drip through the tip? Because when I do I just suck up lots of juice

Technically that's what they're for, though I don't know anyone who does. Juice likes to stick to the sides, and then you get drops in your mouth, which doesn't taste good.

Tips have a surprisingly substantial impact on the vape. I like to play around and try different ones - I get hooked on a favorite for a couple weeks, then try another. Fortunately, I have like 20 different ones that cost me $3 each...

I occasionally pop for a name brand $20 tip if I really like the design, but have not yet been able to pull the trigger on a couple I really like that are more like $40. You can get me this for Xmas if ya want!

I find going to a wide bore tip is necessary once one vapes over say 30 watt. It helps tune the vape flow along with the intake.

Similar to building any engine, one can only jump up the intake and the build so far and exhaust needs attention too. Have all my mods & rba's pushing at least 50 watts, and they all have wide bores. If vaping under 30 or 20 watts, then wide bore tips will actually reduce total vape satisfaction.

Fave metal big bore is the BIG BAD SUM-A-GUN, found at Fatdaddy's. Fave tip is Ebony Premium Wood Drip Tip by Jina Mods

Have gotten into the habit, when shopping for gear, to check out the drip tip's too.

Vape long and Prosper.!!!

Personally, I don't think it provides more airflow because its the equivalent to a garden hose at a fixed diameter. You can try to suck more water through but its still gonna be as restrictive as the smallest part is. If you want a lot of airflow, go for a Chuff Cap. Its wide all the way through. They're similar to the Doge or Dark Horse tips.
