Ok so I FINALY recieved my applewood. I have read so much about the deep apple/wood taste.

First impression. "is that throw up I taste?"
Now before I get attacked by every applewood lover let me explain.

I was expecting a deep dark red apple hint maybe a little woodsy smoked tobacco type flavor. What I tasted was this. "tastes like light sharp green apple-ish with.......puke? what is that? vape vape...stomach bile. But no it doesn't taste like puke or stomach bile. It is too clean to be that. But WHAT IS IT???"
I had my girlfriend try it. She said the same thing. Then BAM! It came to me. There was a HEARTBURN taste/feel to it. "Is this normal? Heartburn taste?" she said that is what she got from it too. I thought maybe it was because of the acidity taste from the apple. but I thought it was a deep flavor like a red apple??? I am getting more of a sharp green apple almost like the skin of an apple where it is a little more bitter.

Is this just my horrible interpretation to this flavor because of some acidy compound that reminds me of heartburn? Or was mine accidently mixed with green apple??? Plus I don't get much of a "tobacco" flavor from it but maybe that's only cause I've been vaping Vaperite organics.

Now I am HOPING someone will chime in with a similar experience with this to tell me "that goes away with steeping" or "that's just the apple skin flavor you taste" or something to tell me it is normal and will go away. I HATE TO THINK I WILL BE UNABLE TO GET THE FULL LUXURY OF THIS VAPE! I can tell it is greatly crafted and fine fine ingredients are used. But is it just me? Or is there a hint of acid reflux going on. Do I just need to steep it?

Applewood needs to steep probably as much as or more than any other BWB juice I have had. I certainly don't recall a puke taste when I tried it straight out of the mailbox, but I remember the apple flavor being far too stark and drowning out whatever undertones there were. It improved substantially with age, although to be honest it is not my favorite BWB juice.

I really like this flavor so I guess you should steep it and try it again in a week. I have not had that type of reaction but mine have been well steeped before I've vaped them. I wouldn't say there is a strong tobacco flavor, but it is all a very smooth flavor with the taste of smoked apple in it. Good luck - and, maybe report back in a week I'd be interested to see if it smoothed out for you.

I ordered six flavors of BWB juice, and only one (555) is acceptable right out of the mailbox. The 555 is fantastic, the best I've yet tried. The others are being allowed to steep, because they are all flavors that get rave reviews on ECF, and right now they taste perfumey.

Give it time to steep. Almost everyone I've talked to here and elsewhere says BWB juice needs time to reach full potential.

I kinda agree with NewYork. The old version of applewood was ok but over-hyped. The new version does have a distinct vomit taste. But steeping? I'm convinced that "steeping" is on par with voodoo, the loch ness monster and big foot. If it ain't good the day it arrives, it ain't good period.

That said, I do seem to vape a lot of BWB Applewood...

I have some BWB Applewood from 1/24/11, not sure if that is the "new or "old" version? It took a good week or two to like it, and it just gets better with age.

I found that quite a lot of my BWB juices did need to steep. Voodoo or not, they taste MUCH better after sitting around for a bit. Strawberry is amazing compared to what it was like when I first got it. Cherry Tobacco was another one that was sort of meh at first and after sitting a week or two, it has become one of my favorites.

The only one so far I have REALLY disliked is bwb 555. I have had it for a bit now and it tastes like pledge or something, I dunno. It is the only place I have tried 555 from, so maybe I just don't like the flavor in general?

n2xe to each their own and please dont take offense to this becuase it is my 2 cents. almost every flavor ive tried gets better with age even dk tab. madvapes juices are vapable out of the box and some of fsusa is like hypnotic mist but it just depends on the company becuase vaporbombs is fresh mixed and requires steep time or its just to dang sweet. backwoods is probally the best juice out there when its steeped(no offense to vaperite or want2vape fans havent had a chance to try but hear great things). i havent had the applewood but honey flue n flue nut, blueberry, casablanca, melonbacco, and others defenitly require steep time or they just arent good.

No offense taken, to each their own. I've just found "steeping" to be on par with using a green Magic Marker to paint the edge of a CD so the the bits don't leak out.

That's a good characterization of 555. It does kind of taste like Pledge smells. I absolutely love it! My favorite BWB flavor is Maxboro which tasted like machine shop cutting oil the first time I vapid it. It's now my all day vape. Go figure?

I think you may have been expecting the wrong thing.

Applewood isn't some sort of woodsy apple, it is it's own distinct thing. The wood from an apple tree is commonly used in the smoking of bacon, other meats, and hard cheeses. So what you are really looking for here is a smoked wood flavor.

And I think BWB's Applewood replicates that flavor pretty well.

The applewood I recieved tastes nothing like "applewood". It tastes like an acidic green apple skin. I expected it to be a deeper "applewood" flavor. Ya know like even a red apple.

Steeping may be voodoo, but it somehow works. There are even juice manufacturers that recommend you remove the lid and let the juice 'breathe' for a day or so before vaping it. Shaking it up a lot can help flavor too, in some people's advice.

My BWB Maxboro was nasty when I opened it. I just tried it today (almost a week later), and it's definitely different than that first day.

I love Don's 555 from the first day, though.

My applewood just tasted a little muted (i.e. not much flavor) when I first got it. After 3 weeks I tried it again and it tasted quite good (used 10ml in 2 days). I would describe the flavor as a wood smoked with a hint of apple in it. If by heartburn taste you mean its giving you heartburn? Perhaps the throat hit is more than what you are used to? I have noticed most BWB juices have a healthy dose of throat hit :)

No. As I said, it TASTES like acid reflux/heartburn. Mine has absolutely no "wood smoked" flavor with a "hint" of apple. I would describe it as a very strong green apple with acidic properties. It is very hard for me to believe that people's taste are SO DIFFERENT from one another that only 1 or 2 others know what I am talking about. Either this is inconsistancy with the product or I have spidey senses and should be a "scent whiffer" for the FBI.

My experience with the Applewood is the same as yours when I first tried it. As I was sitting here reading through this thread I decided to vape some to see if it had changed. I've had a bottle for about a week now. And I do have to admit that it has changed some, the green apple taste is much less than it was at first. So I think I'll just let it sit for a while longer and see how much more the flavor changes.
