Question/Confused regarding SL design...

Today I received my SL/LP red REO grand...I had only planned on a couple of accessories, additional rebuild kit, and just to check in like I do most days...but without a question, this will be a constant all day player. But here is the confusion... I ordered an sl/lp black grand as well as one of the first lp w tumbled brass reo inscribed doors. Now in all the pictures I thought the SL had the notches all the way around so I was confused when I received what was the same mods with different doors... The SL design/mod was only on the door, not on either side or back.

Still, wasn't upset as the brass/black was something I would have opted for regardless, however, I definitely definitely lean towards the more exuberant colors and went with the sl/lp black because it was the only option not TRA which I have in a mini...yet as it only turned out to be a modified door, I would have waited for other choices where the base mod was a color/style I already wanted.

So, I have a red mini and it's by far my favorite color not to mention the red afc... Just sold a grand to a co-worker so even though I thought the SL was only a door mod, it was one of the first bold color sl and I went for it. Now to see the sl how I thought it was intended...is just awesome. Also having the red sl + brass door (also sl on way) is a beautiful thing. But now I have the two black grands with different doors but wasn't sure if there was a run that just called for sl doors? Anyone else come across this?

Maybe (sounds like) your order just got mixed up. I'd PM Rob (redeyedancer) and just tell him what you got, and ask him if that's what you ordered. Mistakes can happen.

in my real life i will force a cash return for shirts from different stores that were washed...but on this I am far from complaining and was holding out for it to have been my mistake (I've had it for over a month)...

Maybe I'll just get it or another modded because I've used it extensively...not to mention he shipped a new sl brass door because of a extra tumbled brass and i of course was willing to ship the extrs door bsck but he just added it to my invoice for free where he already did a custom lp job for me. I've been treated like a king since day one when I could have been buying one for the rest of my life and it wouldn't have mattered. I'll hold on to the door and use the black as the borrowing device (my first: the copper wrinkle was just returned from this duty) or sell it to a new conversion.

I just wanted to confirm that it wasn't an item specific thing and not to mention the next color sl lp to pop up may be a whole different story! But the full sl...I really can't say enough. It's absolutely sick. I'd still pick the standard grand first and I'm a mini lover...(allows me to change flavors quicker and offer a switch in terms of coil wick and it fits better in my back pocket as a tag along) I think I'd grab the SL as a close close 3rd. It just shows the craftsmanship so much more from an outside perspective. A solid block with no prior knowledge just must confuse people while this shows off the guts with an added design, mod, display of expertise that I've run out of superlatives to use without cursing.

My bet is that you bought one of the regular Grands with a SL door, I had to do a double take as well. The complete SL's are 175, the Grand with SL door is 166. I would bet you got one of the $156 models.

I read this on my way out the door and was so convinced that I didn't bother looking...just would come wear my shame and apologize and then go buy another SL as an act of contrition...I was surprised to find that I did pay the 175$ and this was just by chance, I didn't even consider that at any point or what I actually purchased...

I just got a free brass door due to a very very minor mix-up... and your generosity. Not to mention the lp REO on its way that I originally bought and hoped to have milled by a request in the order notes...when I found out that it was probably the least preferred method on contact, I accepted that it was too little too late but worth it because I didnt want to risk the color being sold out. I was just planning on shipping it back as soon as i got it...instead you cancelled out the order, refunded me in full, milled a gold grand which you then invoiced me for, included the SL brass door based on a separate request without asking me for any type of proof that Im not a brass door schemer, and managed to even ship it perfectly as she will arrive tomorrow, Friday afternoon.

I was thoroughly admiring that on the site. I didn't think much of anything about that color until someone posted it after the SO kit which I beleive was the first run of the Kawasaki...and wow. I don't have any of the green variations but for whatever reason, colors I would never pick off a sheet are stunning when applied here.

Post pictures when it arrives...what atty are you going to deck her with?

After looking at my black anno SL and pining after other SL's the smooth models leave me a bit, shall we say limp.

I would sell a few children for a titanium tumbled SL/LP with nothing more than a note to their mothers; I'm only serious. I wonder if I sent a piece of rectangular bar stock and a small sheet Rob would consider it? Ultra lite? Any thoughts Rob?
