I have smoked a pack a day for just over 15 years and switched to vaping on 30th December and still smoke free!

I went with 18mg and seems to fix my nic. cravings.

To be honest I am so happy with the thousands of chemicals I have kicked switching from analogues, the nicotine isnt a big issue for me.

I have no plans to lower / reduce my nicotine in the near future, think I will be vaping for the rest of my days!!

I started vaping 18mg Nicotine @ 50% PG / 50% VG, my next order of juices I ordered some at 12 mg and 6 mg, my last order which was in December I ordered 6 mg and 0 mg nicotine and I've been doing good. I started vaping in May. I figured I would decrease my nicotine intake with every order, but if it didn't work for me, I could always take my nicotine back up ... So far, so good

I smoked for 33 years and switched to vaping 5 or so months ago, i smoked dark tobacco roll ups with no filter for pretty much 30 of the 33 years so went with the 24mg nicotine, it was way too strong but I think that helped during that first difficult week . I switched to 18mg after about 2 weeks, and even that seems stronger than a stinky, going to drop to 1.5mg next time i make a batch of juice and hopefully keep lowering it over the next year.

I'm the resident "Quitter". Smoked analogs for >52 years, (2.5 PAD when I started vaping). After 6 months vaping, I became concerned I might be vaping too much Cinnamon. (I pretty much vaped constantly). Decided to leave the Cinnamon out of my next DIY batch eLiquid. A day or so later I discovered I'd ACCIDENTLY left the nicotine out of that batch also. Decided from then on. . .who needs it. Took me another couple years to shed the "Oral Gratification" thingy. Feb 6th was my last vape. Good Luck with your quit(s). JMHO

Cheers,

7 yr 1 to 1.5 pack day smoker. Started vaping late 2011 on Cig2o analog type device on pre filled 24 or 18mg. Quickly located Kgo batts with standard 510 addy/carto and began making juice at 18mg. I stuck with 18mg on carto tanks for prob over a yr. Once I started using Genesis addy more than a carto, I brought it down to 12mg as they are much more effective nic/vape delivery. Same with most recent kayfun lite at 12mg. Recently picked up a trident rda and made few batches of 6mg as it's such an effective vape. Sometimes I'll grab a carto tank and still like 18mg as it less effective than he rebuildables. So I feel it's not just what the mg of nic is but the device/watts too that plays together. Also depends on how much you want to vape in regards to the nic. I've suggested 24mg to quitting friends and found that lower mg nic was better option cause they wanted to vape a lot.

I've played around with 0mg juice but like the nic + TH. I won't pretend to say nic is good...but from what I've gathered, I'd rather have 3x the amount of nic in the body from vaping than a lower amount of nic + carcinogens/tar. Nic hit , espresso hit. Not sure I can tell a difference...I'm sure a politician can.

Hope that helps. :vapor:

I was smoking half a pack a day. I started with 12, but it wasn't working for me so I upped it to 18. After 1 bottle of 18 I was able to bring it down to 12 and almost a year later I'm still at 12.

I have friends that are down to 6. I think each person adapts differently. Some are more 'hooked' to the nicotine then others. When I was smoking analogs it was rare that I would ever a skip one of my customary analogs i.e. after dinner etc. so for me it's important to get my nic fix!

I struggled a lot with vaping as well, because I always found it hard to find a eliquid that I really liked. Now that I have my fav all day vape, I'm thinking about reducing once again on my next bottle. I suppose somewhere along my vaping journey I decided that nicotine isn't as bad as all the carcinogens from analogs and didn't worry about it too much. But my goal all along has been to get to 0 nic.

I smoked a pack a day for 18 years. Quit cold turkey 11 years ago and it was a horrible experience. A year ago I picked up a smoke and was off again. I don't want to go through nicotine detox again. I have been vaping for for 3 months haven't had a cig and am slowly lowering my nic. I do love the ritual of smoking and am hoping when all is said done. I might be able to enjoy an after dinner vape occasionally with no nicotine. But, I'll cross that bridge when I get there.

I've been vaping for coming up to two months. Month one, 24mg. Worked a treat.

Moved up to a variable voltage with a different tank and found the nic hit too much for my vaping habits (I vape a copious amount of liquid on an evening) -soooo- reduced to 18mg last month. One month on 24, changed some gear and dropped to 18 after a month.

I placed an order for some more e-liquid last night and went for 12mg - the 18mg is starting to make me feel sick if I chain vape.

It's like everything though, no two people are the same and want/need different things from vaping. For me, I'll never stop vaping, but I do like the notion of vaping 0% e-liquid, but that's a long term goal for me.

:)

Pack a day for forty years. I still smoke a couple of butts per day but now vape at 18mg mostly, with an occasional 24mg. I'm not really worried about the strength of my vape or decreasing the nic, right now. My main focus is getting off cigs completely. If I can do that I'll be much better off even if I stay at 18-24mg juice.

I smoked for 60+ years and started with 18. After a few months, I was able to go to 12 without a problem. I next tried 6, but I found that I was vaping a lot more. I guess my body was craving more nic, so I switched back to the 12 strength.

Good luck and keep on vaping!

PS - I just realized that I just finished my second year without one of those horrible analogs!!

I want to add that I have experienced this also - too much nic when experimenting with different flavors.

I got twelve (or so) samples from eliquidsamples.com and set about trying them all using a RDA with cotton ball wicking. Caught quite a nic buzz in a short time. Not totally unpleasant but definitely a wake-up.

So, yeah, I also keep some lower nic stuff on hand for the times I want to chain-vape without getting too much nicotine. But for fightinh off the cigarette cravings - I go at least 18 or 24mg.
