Mine are over a month old and still going and dont taste burnt is this normal? Ahould I still use them?

If they taste fine, I would. I haven't gotten that long of a time out of a carto. Mine start to taste nasty.

I agree with whoever said washing was a waste of time. Some people do, but I've never had luck doing it. It was like vaping out of a soggy paper towel.

With Ego Mega Carts about a week for me, sometimes even less. When they're good they are soooo good but man a week isn't rock and roll at all. KR8 carts do last me generally about 2 weeks. Boge 510 carts, a week. It's not that they die on me, they sort of 'wilt'. The drags just become longer and longer waiting for that ever elusive TH and vapor until there just isn't any to speak of. I wish they lasted as long as attys.

Crazy! I get 2 days out of mine. Its not a flavor issue for me, it's they start becoming a tighter draw. IMHO there's nothing as good as the nice loose draw of a brand new carto, and it is downhill from there. By the end of the 2nd or 3rd day, it feels so tight and I start wanting that loose draw again. Toss the carto in the trash and move on.

Yeah, I have made them last a few weeks when I first started using them. But as I started noticing how nice the new ones hit, I became spoiled.

Length of time a carto will last is difficult because people vape different amonuts of juice. For me after 20 - 30mls they are trash. So some could go weeks and not bang 20 - 30 while others like me can do that in 3 days. So a better measure is juice useage and of course viscosity of the juice will matter.

I have used mine for 2 weeks now and the taste is good still and draws fine but i wanted to just soak it in hot water for a lil bit and let it dry just to see what it does for it.

I'd say vape it untill it dies or untill you can't stand the taste. They are cheap, you could try to clean it or blow it out if you have time on your hands. I only use hot water on all my stuff and blow it out.

Have you tried opening up the air way with a Paper Clip Twist (PCT)?

The airway is not blocked. Every one of these I can see clear thru the airway, and it is just as large as a brand new one. I tore one apart a couple nights ago in an attempt to determine why they get harder to draw. Only thing I found was that the stuffing was soaked- just touching it got juice all over my fingers, and this was on a carto that was hitting dry! So what I suspect is that there are areas of the stuffing where the juice does not actually get heated & vaped, so it just sits in the stuffing (this would also explain why they start tasting bad after some use). As one keeps refilling the carto, it keeps absorbing more and more until eventually it is just so full of juice that air can't flow thru it any more. I have also noticed that when a carto gets to that point of being harder to draw, it also gets very hot on the lips. So I suspect that there is so much juice that it not only impedes the airflow thru it, but the juice also heats up without actually getting hot enough to turn into vapor. So the heat just transfers out to the metal case causing the outside to become hot.

I have one carto that I only use for my morning coffee- I have Irish Creme juice with my coffee, but don't vape that flavor any other time. This particular carto I have been using for 2 weeks now and is still hitting like new. But the flavor is beginning to be off.

If you're on a tight budget and can't afford to get new cartos on a weekly basis, there are ways to clean them that aren't totally useless.
for regular "fluff filled" cartos, I soak them in grain alcohol for half hour , blow them out , rinse with hot water and blow out again, then set them up to dry one day prior to refilling.
for ceramic cartos, you can't really clean them just flush them. I do it with alcohol only, no water. They have video tht shows someone taking them apart but I haven't been able to get the sheath off the base on mine so gave up on it. I use the syringe to suck the liquid out of them , alcohol included , then blow them out till I want to pass out (hard to get all the liquid out of these) and dry burn a couple times before refilling. Get some residual alcohol, but then some liquids have alcohol in them anyway so it must be ok to some small degree.
for clearos, I simply take them apart, rinse in hot water swish in alcohol , blot dry and put back together. I like how easy it s to thoroughly clean these.
I have some ceramic cartos that are almost two months old that still work nicely. But when it starts not producing enough vapor , or the coil looks too black I toss em. Of the four packs of cartos I have bought since november, I have only had to throw three away. Though one of them is beginning to hit that point of no return so it might be four soon.

All in all, if you can afford it, get new ones weekly, if you can't , at least rinse em once a week and let them dry for a day.

Now here's a thread I can relate to...:)

Unless the money is major concern...I'm glad to see others that aren't allowing themselves to become caretakers of their carts...

I use the genuine Joytech 510 cartos...I probably average about 2 days out of them...before their performance starts to become unacceptable to me...As other have said...juice type and how much juice you run through them will play a factor on how long the will last for each person...Your milage may vary..

To me...they are cheap...and I don't want to spend the time trying to clean them....so I just chuck 'em...

I used to wash them out and get 2 weeks out of them. Then I started buying them in bulk. 50 for about $75, or the price of a carton of smokes depending on where you live. I use them for about 3 days until the performance delclines and then I chuck it for a new one. It costs me $1.50 every three days for a carto and the 50 I buy lasts 5 months. 50 cents a day is a very small price to pay for always having a fresh non gunked carto.
