Ive been wrapping coils for my protank2 and mini protank2 for a few months now. I feel that I have hit a plateau in performance using twisted 32ga kanthal and organic cotton, theres just no more room to work with and the vapor and flavor are both amazing. I am quite happy with my current builds and could use them forever. However, Id like to find another project to focus on.

Im looking at some kayfun clones, or maybe a foggerv2, but im completely open to other options. Im planning on spending under 50dollars and already have an agat+, which im not incredibly impressed with. Also, Im not looking to use SSmesh, I dont feel like messing with that again, at the moment. Cotton or silica capable tanks are what im looking for.

What makes an rba better than the others? I assume adjustable airflow is good, but it seems that the geometry of the tank and vapor chamber have alot to do with a nice vape also.

Any suggestions are appreciated and anything with links or testimonials or vids would be super great.
Steer me in the right direction:drool:

I was in the same place as you not to long ago. I have seen everyone rave about Kayfun's and didn't think it could be that much better.......boy was I wrong. I just got the Ehpro Kayun lite plus v2 from 101vape and it is amazing! Super easy to build and flavor and vape blows the protank out of the water. I am thinking about getting a second one already but I will have to wait since I finally got my Provari as well!

For what its worth, I went from the PT2 to the Taifun. I use the Taifun at home on a VW, and the PT2s on a mech for out and about cause its smaller. I like the Taifun, if you've been rebuilding the Protank, it'll be a piece of cake. You might want to pick up some 28 ga Kanthal, or at least 30, will make it easer to build some lower resistance coils. Though I don't subohm, I like coils that run around 1.5 ohm +/-. If you want a new project on the PT2, try a vertical coil with the cotton on the outside of the coil. That's how I build my PT2s now. Really nice vape for a PT2.

The Kayfun and their clones are going to be the majority of the recommendations. They are all bottom feeding, like the Protank, but with a much bigger deck for more options. I would recommend getting some 28ga wire as the thicker gauge wire gives me much better flavor. The Kayfuns will produce vapor similar to a Protank with a similar build. So don't expect a fog machine. But the flavor from a well built Kayfun is much better than any Protank build that I've tried.

Now if you want something completely different, go for a RDA. I heard nothing but good things about the Igo W. But my own experience is with an Omega and Trident clones. This will give you every option of building that you could possibly imagine.

Not sure what device you're using, but if you get an RDA, get a mech mod and some good batteries. That way, no matter if you build regular resistance or sub-ohm resistance, you have a device capable of firing it. On the mech mod, the type of mech mod you get is not nearly as important as the type of batteries. So a Kamry K100 will do just about what an authentic Nemesis can do. But, an el'cheapo Ultrafire can never do what a Sony VTC5 can do.

Another vote here for the Kayfun style attys. I've got a few different Kayfuns and Russians, plus a genuine Taifun GT and a genuine Kayfun lite. With a well set up micro coil and cotton they all perform equally well. The flavour is amazing and plenty of vapour too. I wouldn't go for the Fogger V2 as it's quite an awkward deck to build on, the later versions are supposed to be a lot better. I do have a couple of Fogger V2's and they take twice as long to set up as a Kayfun does

You'll probably find it's easier to build the Kayfun atty than a Protank too :)

Between those two I'd give my vote to the Kayfun clone, specifically the Hcigar 3.1 version. That one would be right around your $50 limit.

Can't go wrong with a Kayfun Lite+ or a Fogger V4. I have a Tobeco and an EHPro Kayfun and the EHPro is much better quality but they both work good. If you are looking at drippers, I have a trident V2 that I love! Super easy to build on!

BTW, I love the Avatar!

Thanks man, I dig the tatoo.

No more trying to squish in a tiny rubber grommet into the bottom of a protank coil head.
