Question for Sellers and Suppliers and Vapor's of Canada (To do a PRESS RELEASE)

Hi there.

My name is Paul. I am currently running a sort of petition on CAUSES right now.
"To get Personal Vaporisers (E-CIGs) w/Nicotine in CANADA APPROVED by Health CANADA!"

I have gotten some help from a non-profit grassroots organization with very limited budget. They would like to issue a Canada wide press release of public interest about Electronic Cigarettes against Health Canada.

**A question she asked me was: Are you in close terms with any of the bigger e-cigarette distributors? If so, do you think any of them can fund us for the press release to go through CNW Telbec Communiqués de la journée An educated guess of how much it would cost for the English release alone would be anywhere from $500 to $700 I guess.**

She also asked : Also, do you want to coïncide the release with vapors awareness week in the end of July?

So basically, Are there any vendors, sellers, buyers, vapors, anyone that would be willing to donate to do this Press Release to go against Health Canada?

You know I have been considering a lot of things lately. I am quite pesimistic about HC approving ecigs and I am actually concerned that significant publicity might achieve the opposite of what we want to achieve (ie. severe crackdown,) largely due to the "triple threat" pressures. It seems to me that the best we might hope for is vendors going about their business fairly quietly, not growing too big and adhering to the ECF rules (ie. no health claims etc.,) and HC just being cool and basically overlooking things. I hope to be proven wrong but that's my 2c.

You might be right. Nothing has been done as of yet. The Press release thing is all talk as of this moment. And Health Canada couldnt care less about CAUSES. This is too seek out everyones opinions on this subject.

Cool. Hope I am not hijacking this thread, mod please feel free to delete and I will start a different one.

This is my dream, but I don't really have faith in people/vendors agreeing and working together. What I think would be a great idea is as follows:

a) Canadian vendors pool and each indicate the maximum $ they are willing to put in for a legal challenge.

b) "" contact their customers and ask them each to commit (but not yet donate) to an amount they are willing to donate on short notice.

c) Select a lawyer/firm.

d) Wait for the next action by HC against a vendor(s.)

e) Take the pooled $ and fight for our rights legally!

Hello everyone. I just wanted to mention that I will not partake in any Press Release for now. My "CAUSES" will stay in effect.
I don't want to screw it up for everyone. What I do want, and hopefully one day it will happen, is a LEGAL battle with Lawyers to fight the right way, with the law on our side. I agree with you "Polsmoka" on this. It's the way to go. If the lawyer says to do a Press Release, then we do it. Only with a lawyer backing us.

If one day this does happen, I would join in the fight.

Wish could get some support on this concept but I find most people are more concerned with the "right now," rather than forging strategies for the future I'm willing to put in my part but I'm not going to start approaching people (at least at this juncture anyway.) I hope so too one day. Maybe it will take Health Canada to attack our community again, and that will be the final straw for alot of us and WE WILL fight back, but until then, everyone probably just wants too keep hush hush for now since HC isn't doing much right now.

I don't believe m(any) have the resources to do this sucessfully this by themselves. That's why I'd say pool together now when things seem to be quiet. What do I know, maye there are bigger things going on behind the scenes.
