Hello there! First of all a big thank you to the creator and members of this forum, it's an awesome resource!

I started vaping about 3 days ago on a mission to quit smoking mainly because I want to be around when my 2 yold grows up!
My wife (a very stubborn pack a day smoker) is considering doing the same so we have some momentum!

That being said she tried my G6 and my triton, almost choked/coughed to death and hates it! she says she want to draw on the ecig with the same strength as her cigarettes and that using my stuff is not going to cut it.

Surprisingly enough she tried her friend's green smoke and liked it. I tried the gsmoke and I thought it was garbage, go figure.

So here is the question, I want her to have the same "wow, I can do this" moment I had when I tried the g6, I suspect the reason she is choking is because of the vapor amount the g6/Triton produces. Do any of you ladies relate to this? can you offer some advice? Maybe some products to try?

She obviously does not enjoy the slow full drag that I have come to love lately.

Thank you!

Hiya and welcome to ECF :) COngrats on the switch!

Chances are either she doesnt like your flavor, your PG ratio or your nic level may be to high for her.

If she enjoyed/liked greensmoke - get her that one *shrugs* if you want to look at similar cig-a-like options - many here speak very highly of the eroll and if she is iffy on the switch - whitecloud flings
Joyetech eRoll, Mini Electronic Cigarette
Buy Electronic Cigarettes | Disposable & Rechargeable | White Cloud

You may have better luck getting her a cute ego battery and simple evod tank in her favorite colors and picking a juice she will like - coffee, fruit, bakery, etc...
Good luck!!

I've been vaping since October -- I started with Blu and dearly loved them - for about a week! Blu is similar to green smoke, I think. After about a week I ordered a Joyetech eGo with a Evod tank and loved it for about two weeks! My next adventure was an eVic with a Pro-tank2 - I still use that occasionally - My favorites now are my e-mode pipe, my smok tech e-pipe and my Bolts -- all with either a protank3 or the g-50 tank--

I'm honestly into "pretty" I have a gold epipe with a gold g-50 tank and a 8 inch churchwarden pipe stem that is to die for - so be careful what you ask for with your wife!! Also getting ready to order a new magnetic bolt - blue with a blue g-50 and a long drip tip from Madvapes to match!!!

Here's a picture of my e-pipe -- maybe she'd like something like this -- I actually prefer the pipe stems to the shorter drip tips --

I am not a lady, but I will say that I cannot think of any other devices that allow the vaper to take the same sort of drags out of it that you take from a cig.

Part of vaping is using a different drag technique than you use for cigarettes. It is just where the technology is at. Anytime I let a smoker take a drag off of my APV, they always cough and cough, despite my warnings to take a slow gentle drag.

I am not claiming to be the expert or anything, but I have used quite a few different ecigs/batteries/atomizers/clearomizers. I have never found one that allowed a super hard drag.

Maybe it's a bit of "i don't like it because it's my husband telling me to like it" syndrome. i'm taking her to the local B&M and have the guy at the store offer things to try. I also thought about the nic level, pg and flavor... I think B&M is the way to go versus online

That pipe is awesome! makes me think of wizards!

If you are using the mini tank on the g6, and the triton tank on the triton, perhaps she would prefer a cartomizer.

Also, perhaps a bottom coil with cooler vapor...hard to find for a 808 or 808/ego...but that might make it less harsh.

Or, maybe a lighter fruit flavor like watermelon at a higher vg ration.

OK, I'm out of ideas.

Disagree. While they are very far from beginning equipment, RBAs and especially RDAs with drilled out airholes allow for incredibly hard drags, harder than you would ever drag a traditional cigarette. My 3/32" airhole feels almost like a tobacco pipe with a carb.

I think this is an excellent idea! She may need a very different set up than you to find what will work for her, getting her directly involved in the process will make that a lot easier.

Going from smoking to vaping MAY require a new technique. When I smoked, I always drew the smoke into my mouth and then inhaled. For the most part I vape the same way, but some people inhale directly into their lungs which results in a MUCH harsher puff. If she is inhaling directly into her lungs, suggest she use your PV like she would a straw, draw it into her mouth then inhale into her lungs but when vaping you don't need to inhale to get the nicotine.

Welcome to ECF and I hope you both find your vaping nirvana! :vapor:

I agree. That's the way I started out. And it worked for me, but YMMV.

Welcome, and best of luck to you and your wife!

I started on Blu disposables. I wouldn't say "started" exactly, but over the course of 2 months I bought a few and decided they were interesting enough to get me curious about what all was out there.

I bought an eRoll kit as my first "real" vaping experience, and for me it was so much like a real cigarette that I had stopped smoking by the following day. I stayed with my eRoll for 2 months after that, and happily. I will say that as I became more accustomed to vaping, my technique changed automatically. One caveat though is that like Chas F above me, I never smoked with lung hits so my drags were never that strong. I couldn't stand the taste of a "hot boxed" cigarette, so her mileage may vary on that point.

I did end up later with a rainbow colored 1300mah Spinner, a mechanical mod w/carto-tank, and my most recent purchase was an Innokin Itaste VV. So even if you get her a greensmoke to start, she will likely want something with a bit more power later.

Hi Samolet =)

I started vaping in 2009 and had some Chinese cig-a-like e-cigs. I hated the taste and the sensation of trying to suck a golf ball through a straw just to get a tiny nicotine hit. That was not going to do it.

So, I had to get over the idea that an e-cig should look like a cig and more importantly that it should taste like a cig. Once I crossed that bridge, it opened up a cornucopia of delicious flavors and the larger but more effective Ego VV2 with clearo tanks.

Eventually, I surrendered (so happily) to the ProVari Mini and carto tanks. In all honesty, nothing satisfied me fully until then (e-cig wise that is o_O) And being a no hassle vapor that set-up is perfect for me. It is reliable and it delivers very well.

Taste is subjective. Maybe you could experiment with flavors and strengths? Go web shopping together and try small quantities of some juices. She may find a vape she really, really likes. If she likes throat hit, go for a higher percentage of PG (like 70/30?). On my ego battery I used 18mg. On the ProVari I go for 12mg or less because I hit it more often.

It is true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Nicotine is an addiction and like any addiction a person must decide on their own what path to take. I love vaping as a nicotine replacement but I had to get there on my own. No one could make me do it.

But you can tell her that vaping is sexy. ;)

I don't think her problem is with your G6 or Triton. I love the Halo equipment. I have the G6 and use the mini tanks and I also have the Triton and Triton tanks. I love both of them. I also love their vv battery!!

She probably needs a different nic level or juice flavor. Tastebuds are extremely personal. Chance are you won't like the same flavors. She needs to find her own flavors she likes.
