Question for those who are rebuilding the subtank OCC coils

When rebuilding the OCC it is necessary to pre-treat the coil or it will burn the rubber grommet correct? So if I just put the coil on an rda, attached near the actual coil with the long leads sticking all the way out the other side, and pulse it a good bit should that do the trick? And yes I've used the rba quite a bit and while it has extremely impressive flavor and wicking, I really like the draw and clouds with the OCC's as well. Also as a side note has anyone noticed they get more burnt hits with the OCC's? I kinda wanna experiment with rebuilding them to see if I can change that.

EDIT: I've vaped like 80 mls of juice out of this thing in the past 4 days LOL (1.5mg nic mind you). Love it.

for the occ head and rba ive heated the coil w/out melting the insulator
fire to just get the coil red and let go of the fire button, let it cool down and maybe blow on it to try to keep the head/rba cool.
repeat as needed but make sure head/rba are not hot b4 firing it up again.
better safe than sorry
