I previously was using Smoke Stik Cartomizers (4081) - I loved them but they were so expensive. In the last few weeks I have started buying juice and filling. I have a TON of old Cartomizers that were pre-filled and smoked until empty and I just throw them in a bag. Some are 2-3 months old. I would like to use them, but read on here that old stuff can have bacteria (makes sense - liquid sitting around for two months). So, I am looking for advice on what to do with these old Cartomizers - can I just put them in boiling water for a few minutes and let them dry for a day or two? Will that be adequate to kill any bacteria? Is using the 2 month old Cartomizers workable like this?

Okay, so bacteria is not an issue with old Cartomizers - then what is the reason that people clean them? I thought the point of cleaning was to get rid of anything that might be harmful. If old Cartomizers are not full of bacteria - is it just that the taste would be off using with old juice sitting in there for a month or two? I would think putting new juice in would cure that? I really just want to start filling my old Catromizers since I have a ton, but didn't want to get sick or something because they were sitting around for so long.

I think the only concern might be the taste. You could always put the end caps on and put them in a sealed plastic container.

If they were sitting in the open, they might be sort of dried out.

Try one, if they taste yucky, toss them. You don't have anything to lose trying to clean them though. If you google, there are a bunch of methods you'll find. Some people boil them a few times and keep changing the water until it's clear. The key is to make sure they're completely dry before you try to reuse them or they're sort of soggy. Some people use Vodka or PGA to speed up the drying process.

Folks clean them to save a little money. As for taste being off, no if you place the condoms back on both ends. I fill a bunch up and recap them...use them when I need too when I'm in a hurry. I've had filled carto's sit for 3 months without any problems once they went into use..not even an "off" taste.
