I am confused with RBAs. I want to get a nemesis clone, but I don't understand the atomizers. Are all the RBAs drip atomizers or do some have a tank system as well? I don't want to have to drip fluid into the mouthpiece every 5-8 hits....I want to be able to load up a tank and smoke. I hope this makes sense. For VV/VW I understand the tanks...but I never see the tanks on the mech mods...unless these RBAs are actually tanks too and I'm missing something. Educate me please.

Thanks.

These days RBAs is usually a reference to tank based rebuildable atomizers. RDAs is what everyone calls a rebuildable dripping atomizer.

The Kayfun is an excellent example of an RBA. It is a tank based rebuildable atomizer system. The tank holds the liquid which is then dripped down fluid channels to the atomizer where it is converted to vapor like a dripping atomizer. Because of the design it has all of the enhanced flavor of dripping and all of the convenience of a clearomizer.

Thank you for that information, that definitely helps. Can you (or anyone else) explain then what the difference between the RBA and something like the Aspire Nautilus or the typical protank is? Both of those can be modded for microcoils...but is the general consensus that the RBA still makes better cloud production than a typical glassomizer/clearomizer...and if so, why is it superior?

Also, what is the typical capacity in ml for the RBA, like the kayfun posted above?

There are two types of tank RBA's. There's the Genesis-style which typically uses stainless steel mesh as a wick; these tanks need to be kept in an upright position or they may leak. Then there's the newer Kayfun-style which uses negative pressure like a cartotank uses, and is not position dependent.

Clearomizers use tiny silica strings to wick juice to the coil. A moderate to heavy vaper can easily out-vape what the strings can wick to the coil, leading to dry or burnt hits. This can cause the vaper to pull harder while puffing, leading to the opposite scenaro of flooding. All this results in inconsistancy in your vape.

What sets a rebuildable apart from other delivery systems, IMHO, is the size (surface area) of the coils and the wick material. RBA's will use larger amounts of silica or cotton for a larger surface area (volume) and larger coils which results in more vapor & more flavor. Other factors such as air flow are adjustable with an RBA. All combined - larger wick & coil with adjustable airflow - results in a superior vape.

Thanks Baditude. As the other poster mentioned, the Kayfun style RBA he said "drips" from the tank to the coil....obviously this is unlike the clearomizers which are submerged in liquid. How do the Kayfun style RBAs achieve this dripping action without constantly submergering the wic in pool of fluid? Based on what yall have said thus far the Kayfun style will definitely be my choice for a mech...it sounds the closet so the clearomizers.

This appears to have good reviews, good airflow, and is Kayfun style from what I have read. Thoughts? http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10007195/1594300-aqua-style-rebuildable-atomizer The other thing important to me is a tank that allows cinnamon flavors...so I'm looking for a SS tank or a pyrex tank. If there is a better option then let me know. Obviously the real deal would be better, but for my first jump into this I'd rather use a clone to keep the cost down.
