I would sugest 3 things. An Ego twist, a kgo, or an Echo.

1) Ego twist-Turn the bottom, and change the volts of your vape.
-Inexpensive
-A lot of options for atomizers, cartomizers, tanks ect...
-Resectable company

2) Kgo -Often overlooked vapor device that is reliable
-Vapes at higher volts than standard Ego but not as high as is possible with Ego Twist
-Verry afordable

3)Echo -Simple
-Reliable
-Afordable
-3ml cartomizer that lasts and can be cleaned to last a verry long time, some people can get a month out of one.
-No button, fully automatic

No matter what you get, by simply asking the folks a ECF you will certainly get a satisfying vape.Best of luck.

minimum two batteries - ego twist or vision spinners. size is up to you but bigger Mah is better for lasting longer in one charge.
a charger.
a few cartomizers with 510 threading to fill yourself. (have polyfill inside, easy to use but disposable once dead
a mini vivi nova tank (or two) and some replacement heads. very reliable and a great starting clearomozer type tank that will last awhile.
2 or 3 - 510 style atomizers for dripping/testing juices. easy to clean and last a long time.

several small samples of juice from some of the better known vendors, never start out with big bottles until you know what you like.

keep coming here and asking us anything that you need help in understanding.

then enjoy vaping while learning about other devices you might like to try in the future.

If you're looking to be frugal what with the kid and everything, I'd suggest trying out Smokeless Image. Grab 1 X2 650 battery and a sample pack of cartomizers. If you find a flavor you like, then just buy a bottle of that juice and keep filling it up for a while.

Initial startup cost is less than $30, and since the X2 is a pass-through the charging cable is included. Everything you need to find out if e-cigs are going to be worth the investment of your time and money, and they have a very good reputation for their products and customer service.

I started three weeks ago with this Vision eGo kit from Blue Mist Vaping.

However, I didn't like the clearos that came with it, and very quickly picked up a ViVi Nova Mini and a Kanger T3 from Vaping Me, and a eGo-V from iVape.

I would recommend picking up an eGo Twist starter kit like this one from Virgin Vapor - 2x 1000mAh eGo Twist batteries and a ViVi Nova. And a little bit of juice.

The Smokeless Image X2 batteries are an excellent recommendation. They are essentially similar in size and function to the eGo batteries, but instead of a 510 connector, the X2's use an 808 threaded connector. All of Smokeless Image products are compatible with each other, so if you buy all your juice delivery devices (cartomizers, clearomizers, ce3's, Nano's, T3's) from them, you can rest assured that they will work on the X2.

Battery length determines how long they will last per charge. Figure 100 mah is equal to 1 hour battery use. Ie: 600 mah battery will last 6 hours, a 1300 mah battery will last 13 hours.

X2 and clearomizer // X2's and ce3's // battery size comparisons // X2 600 mah, 900 mah, and 1300 mah batteries

I would also suggest an ego twist. It is a good solid e-cig. Very well made and the stainless metal is nice. It is not difficult to hold and is good for using in the car/home. I got the joyetech brand, and the joye fast charger, since they are a solid company and have a warranty. I have an ego c kit, but it would not allow me to use a tank, it would drain the battery. And if I used the cartridges and atomizer that came with it I only got a burning taste. So I bought a few clearomizers that would work, and bought the ego twist to use with a tank. I also found a drip tip was a good thing to have, so that my mouth was not so close to the juice, when using a cartomizer, the metal sometimes gets really hot. I am not sure of the resistance of these items. I got regular resistance to go with my set, but maybe someone could clue us in on the electrical or resistance without confusing me? I would really like to know why the clearomizer Kanger eGo CE2: 2.5ohm and 1.8 ohm drains my ego c batteries! And why I get only a burnt taste using the new cartridge/atomizers that came with my ego c kit. It is not a joyetech product. I got it free from ecigadvanced by earning 200 points in their forum. Very easy to do, and it's a good kit for backup.

Avid Vaper has the Crystal Vision Cartomizers for the Ego style Batteries for 2.99, and it's rebuildable. Or any of the stardust, vision clearomizers would work well. I like to be able to take them apart to clean. Good Prophets has the 650 mah Twist for 23.99 and a dollar discount if you buy 2 or more. Their fast charger is only 4.99 and I already have a wall charger. They had the kanger clearomizer on sale for 2.99 and these have worked well for me on my twist. Also their ejuice is on sale for 1.99 for a 10ml. Just make sure that your ejuice does not contain diactyl or any of those chemicals. Perfumer's Apprentice and Flavor Art both have info on the types of butter/custard flavors to not use in juice. There is a lot of info on this forum for mixing your own. And check for vendor codes on this and other forums for a discount. The one I used for Good Prophets is tvcfriend for a 5% discount. Check the list of discounts on this website: ecigarette-mods.com/info/coupons/ has coupons. You should also research price and shipping from several stores before purchasing. I liked Good Prophets, they sent my order same day, on a weekend and I got it on Monday, it was only one day! And shipping was free for over $35 orders, but I don't know about costs to Singapore. Also check all the ejuice vendors to find something that you like at a reasonable price. I have tried several sample packs from companies to see if I liked their juice, the cost varies from $2 - $12 for a 10 ml bottle, so shopping around is a good idea.
So to seeing which way to go, what to buy is up to you and your personal tastes. Since you are going to quit smoking, then you may want to invest in a good kit, and get one to last you. Get 2 batteries, so you can have one while one is charging. The small cigarette type ones are just not strong enough to last and get enough smoke. A lot of people start there, but end up getting a better one latter. I didn't want to waste my money so got the ego C and twist. It is a good kit, if you get the clearomizers. Watch videos on youtube. They have good reviews and good info too. Good luck to you, you can quit for good! I smoked for 40 years, and have quit since Oct 13. I am not having nicotine withdrawals, and have no interest in cigarettes anymore!
