question on wire guage

Hey guys.

Sorry for the dumb question. I mainly deal with micro electronics but am building a parallel 18650 unregulated box mod. I am using a mosfet in my design but I have never dealt with potental 40-60 amp currents before. Would 18 awg stranded speaker wire work for wireing the mod together. Been looking on google but can not find any information stating current thresholds on this wire type.

Try 14 awg copper wire instead. Holds more current just in case.

Because of the short lengths used you can get away with fairly thin wire, but you will get a voltage drop so the thicker you can use the better mod you will make. 14awg is a bit heavy, but if you can use it for your build great, you can also use just heavier for the load bearing wires and less for the mosfet if it's easier.
