So I attempted my first Clapton build last night with a 26 gauge Nichrome and a 32 gauge wrap. I wanted to go for a dual coil but couldnt cram the second coil into my center post ( derringer). Since the majority of my atomizers are triple posts, I'm more or less expecting to run into this problem again. From what I understand the outer wire doesn't carry a current, the current is carried by the center wire and the outer wires just absorb heat. So my question is, if I wanted to do a dual coil through a center post, could I just thread the center wires through and leave the outer wrap outside of the center posts? Basically leave a little tab of 26 gauge to mount on the center post? Would this work?

It would work, but if you're leaving a little tab of 26g exposed to hold the current, why not unravel a couple of the 32g wraps, and cut a piece of it to insert into the center post, kind of in a parallel fashion? Either that or flatten the end a little bit or punch out the post hole just a bit to make it larger. I have 26/30g claptons in my derringer and it was a ***** to get duals to fit but poking around enough in the hole was enough to get them to fit.
