Question regarding coil temps

Hey folks, I just started building my own coils recently on a Panzer mod, using some Samsung imr 18650, 3.7 volts 1600 mAh batteries on a Magma rda.

I've been watching Rip Tripper on YouTube for some ideas on coil builds, but have been getting subpar results when firing my coils. In his videos, using the same mod, he can do 28 or 26 gauge zipper coils, twisted coils and the like, and when he fires them his coils always hit instantly, and almost white hot.

Using 28 gauge 12 wrap single coil which I currently have on, it takes two to three seconds to heat up to a reddish glow in the middle, the last coil or two on each side will barely burn red, and using dual 28 gauge 5 wraps will heat in a second, but to a bright red glow, nothing like the bright orange white I see in his videos. I'm using kanthal from Vapowire, micro coils on a screwdriver about the equivalent of a 5/64 bit, close wraps and I pinch them so they are nice and tight.

Also using MtBaker max VG chocolate mint, blowing semi opaque clouds, kind of like what I used to get off my MVP2 and iClear 30 with a 50/50 blend, if any of you have used that combination before to give you an idea.

I'm totally stumped as to what the issue could be, any thoughts?

A 28 gauge single coil with 12 wraps is going to take a long time to heat up on a mechanical mod. I'm guessing that coil is at least 1.5 ohms... If you want a coil to heat up quickly on a mechanical mod you really need to drop your resistance... (Talking specifically to a regular micro coil) The more mass (of wire) and resistance of said wire, the longer it is going to take to heat up. I never run over 1 ohm on a mech mod...

Rip Trippers build videos are almost always sub ohm or super sub ohm coils.

1: You don't seem to know the amp rating of your battery.
2: You don't seem to know the ohms of your coils.

For 28 gauge kanthal at 3.7 volts I believe you want about 1.2 ohms per single coil.
