Hey everyone!!!!

I just purchased an anodized bolt from smoktech.com. it stated the mod was made to house a 18650 battery without having to use anextender. When I try to screw the top of the mod on with the battery inside it is nearly impossible to screw down all the way. Is it supposed to be that difficult to screw together. I really have to work to get it on. Normal? Can I shorten the spring on the bottom? Help!!

The bolt without extender will house an 18650. Orbtronic.com sells 18650's protected and unprotected, and the protected are longer which may cause some of the issue your having.

The best thing I ever did to my bolt, was to buy the extenders, and put a kick in it.

Hmmmm... are they AW IMR 18650's?

You know... now that I think back... the stock bolt only houses the 18500's. You would need the extender to run an 18650, and 2 extenders for the kick with an 18650.

which is also what i thought. did you take a gander at the link i posted??

The Anodized "Bolt" Advanced Personal Vaporizer by Smok - A quality 18650 3.7v device for less.

claims it houses 18650.....misinformation?

I'm thinking misinformation, a newer version or a knock off. The "real" smoktech site is here: http://smoktech.com/goods.aspx?GoodsID=10122

Crystal Clear Vaping sells the bolt that I'm thinking about.

The kick allows for VW which is different in the fact once you set your wattage it doesn't matter what resistance or anything you use on it it will stay at that wattage.

That does say it is designed for the 18650 but as they sell the IMR flattop batteries for in it that leads to which batteries are you using, the IMR do not have or need the board that causes the protected batteries to be a tad longer.

Also you said it is hard to screw in but does it have the same issue without a battery in it, if it does then I would suggest you contact them as that is the threads not the battery.
