That's what I'm wondering. Maybe it's just the quality of RatShack switches?
I made this specifically for dry burning because I got tired of running my cells down, and I don't want their overall lifetime degraded by constantly driving them in that manner.

I used one of these on an 18650 box for quite a while with no problems. They seem to be sturdy. They're big, if nothing else.
You might give it a shot. You can check RS's website & see if they have it local. If not, check out Mad Vapes. He's got some good switches there.
Have you tried using a 'store bought' 5v pass-through for your dry burns? Hook it to a 2A wall wart, should give you the power you need.

The mall RS I went to only had these. I need to visit one of the full retail ones to find the one you linked to - that will probably work.
I'm trying to save a little dough by building my own, since I received that nifty free flashlight from MadVapes. I didn't think the stock button on it would handle heat from the dry burns and didn't want to risk melting the casing.

You can look up the switch on RadioShack - mobile phones, MP3 players, laptops, and more & it will tell you the closest store in X miles that has it in stock.
It is not recommended, but if you are going to use this strictly for dry burns & not vaping, you could leave the switch out & just hold the 2 wires together for the length of the burn. I say hold them together because that way you won't forget & leave it burning. Use the flashlight & make a regular, usable, mod out of it.
