Still can't seem to be able to post anywhere else yet, so I'll ask here.

So I got the U-DCT yesterday, it comes with a carto that has the pre-punched holes and as most of you know are super tiny and pointless. So I made the whole a tad bit bigger. Well putting it in the tank wasn't really and issue, the walls where still fine and didn't really distort it. It gave very minor resistance while putting it in, so didn't seem like a huge issue.

Now it's time to refill....the carto is stuck inside, won't come down further than where the hole is placed. It's not far enough down to refill properly. I've used pliers and such to try and pull out the carto, but that bad boy is stuck.

So my question, is there a way to refill the tank with the carto stuck and not able to go down far enough?

Thanks.

Not that I know of. If you can get the 510 connection off you can probably take some pliers and collapse the carto tube to remove it. The caps are not very strong metal the carto may win if you just pull it out.

Wouldn't collapsing it ruin the carto, I mean I'll do that if it comes down to it but I would like to continue to use it since it's only a day old. Plus I only have one spare carto and I would need to widen that hole also. I might just have to drill that hole so their isn't any kind of dent.

I'm assuming that the U-DCT aren't hole punched friendly.

I had a similar problem with one of mine, ended up removing the top of the tank and squeezing the carto with a small pair of needle nose pliers to remove it. I the tried to drill a new carto instead of punching it, be very careful with the drill bit ;-( (It's a good thing I had 3 cartos to start with!)
