questions about a flashlight mod...

ok..

so i was at the local dollar store and i found this nice all aluminum led flashlight... bought it and brought it home... for modding purposes of course..

got it home... and it's really massive:

Overall external Length: 5 1/4"

largest external diameter: 1 1/2"

Battery compartment inner diameter: 1"

Battery Compartment inner length: approx 3"(if you allow for spring compression)

usable upper chamber space (for installing the guts of the ecig 1" high by 1 1/4" across.


there is a space between the battery box and the usable space at the top that is blocked off and constitutes the on off switch (which i plan to leave alone as a safety switch)

my question is... how big of a battery can i get that is protected and will fit into the large space for the battery compartment ( i have got a few mm space to wiggle if the battery is a bit larger than the space)

with such a large battery (assumed) will i need anything else other than the connector piece? i often see kits with extra items in the box and i never know what they`re for...


Any assistance would be great.

A 26650 is 1.023 inches wide/ diameter and 2.559 inches long. Thats the closest i can think of off hand. The numbers on the li ion batteries are the measurements in millimeters. 26650 = 26mm diameter 65mm length and the 0 just means it is a cylinder cell.
