Hello new to the forum. I'm been having my local smoke shop trying to sell me an e-cig for months now. My friend bought one called vap-cig, he showed it to me and I'm sold. However I'm an internet user (obviously) and have been to several websites in the past week, and can't come to a conclusion on which one to buy.

I was just about to click confirm order on the vapor king 510.
Apparently I can't post URLs sorry.
I liked it's refillable cartridge and cheap parts.

My concern is how long I can use the unit I purchased without changing crap out, or having things go wrong. Everything is made in china these days and even if the company is based here they more then likely are getting their products from china. In fact that vapor king looks a lot like the joye510 just has a bigger gold band where the pieces connect.

Anyone out there that could please recommend the Honda of E-cigs, to me?? Honda meaning I can drive it for about 100K without any major hiccups.

Also after reading through your site it seems that I company with reliable juices would be nice too.

Thanks for your time,

Matt

Hi Matt. Welcome to the forum. You can get recommendations on vendors for hardware and juice on the other forums - we're trying to be neutral on vendors in this forum for obvious reasons. But I can address the main concern: "My concern is how long I can use the unit I purchased without changing crap out, or having things go wrong."

Like almost any product, ymmv (your mileage may very) tag comes in handy and ecigs are no different. We only have as 'evidence' our own experience and what we read what others say on theirs, and I have seen reports of people burning out atomizers and batteries on the first day and others who have had their ecigs for 6 months without a failure. I have been vaping for 6 months and lost one atomizer and three batteries (auto batts) and I know that all my losses were 'pilot error'.

Most vendors - and this is something you should check out before buying - have some type of warranty - some are full replacement on their dime, some you have to pay the postage. Some are one month, some 6 months and longer. For the most part a battery costs around $10-15 and atomizers anywhere from around $6-10. IOW, sometimes not worth the postage unless you have several to return. But I think I can safely say, depending on how much you smoke, that even if you have to buy replacement parts you will still be way ahead vs. buying cigarettes.

Now with that out of the way, with proper care - cleaning off the battery connections and cleaning the atomizers when the performance isn't as it was, your ecig and it's parts should last you for months but again ymmv. We've had one person I know that had an atomizer last for 2 years. Don't expect that though.

If you check some of the polls in the stickies you'll find that the most popular models are the Joye 510, DSE 901, DSE 801, KR808D-1 with cartomizers, M400 series.... with the 510 topping most polls. But the choice you make has more to do with your usage than the popularity of any particular model. You have some reading to do, and hopefully this information will help with that.
