I am thinking about getting a Pro-Vape 1. I am presently using Joye eGo-T. I understand that with an adaptor I can use my ego attys and tank system with the Pro-Vape 1. I am just wondering what's the difference other than the mechanics of the two systems. I get good vaping and batt time with my Ego...is there an advantage to having a Pro-Vape 1 and most importantly will I save money in the run going with the Pro-Vape 1? Any an all imput is appreciated as always.
The advantage of any mod over the eGo is the fact that the batteries in the mods are replaceable. You remove them from the tube, charge them with a regular battery charger. Another plus would be carrying just an extra battery rather than another eGo batt. The battery in the Provape 1 is the 14500 - good reliable batt with 900mAh rating on the trustfire that Provape sells. There are other kinds of 14500 - the AW IMR which offers more protection and good for LR attys. But they don't last as long before having to recharge. 14500's can be had for around $5-10 for a two pack - so shop for them.... An eGo batt can go from around $10-15 each - on sale and a non-Joye clone can go for less.
Downside on the tube mods is size - most are bigger than the eGo 650mAh batt. But depends on your situation and if 'looks' are a consideration. Another downside, imo, and the deal breaker for me on tube mods for tanks, is the underload voltage - with the Provape's 14500 you'll be at a full 3.7 Volts (also true of the newer Rivas - eGo clones). Normally this would be considered a 'plus' but with a regular Joye eGo batt you're at 3.2-3.4Volts and the eGo-t attys/spikes tend to heat up and burn ejuice (not so far on the eGo-c's with the ones I have, btw) and the more voltage would tend to burn some juices. Also the added heat lowers the viscosity of the ejuice which can then be more prone to leak. Some of the stronger ejuices can stand up to the heat but others either taste burnt or lose flavor - so I tend to use the lower voltage Joye's with my eGo-t's except for one strong flavor where I can use the 3.7v batt (SE Riva's) or the VV eGo which can go as high as 3.8/3.9v and as low as 3.3volts - mid range is 3.6-3.7v. If you use LR tank attys, the situation is even worse on some flavors. ymmv on what flavors you use and the makeup of the ejuice - pg/vg ratio, etc. I vape VG on eGos.
