Will a regulated mod (50+ watt) produce the same heat on a higher ohm build as a mechanical mods 0.3 ohm build? I think I might have found that sweet spot taste on my mech mod. The only regulated mod I have are ego VV spinners and an MVP 2. None of which can give me a warmer vape compared to a mech mod with a 0.3 ohm build. Sorry for the silly question but I really don't wanna go out and buy a high watt device and be disappointed. I'll probably still use Drippers for now but would really like to get into RTA's with a warmer vape.

Thanks in advance

In my experience, regulated MOD's only work better than Mech MOD's at higher Ohm's. In the case above, .3 Ohm's at 4 volts would be 53.3 Watts and 13.3 Amps..... so you would need a device higher than 50 watts.
Edit: Sorry... read question wrong.... So yes, you could get a VV/VW device to give you your preferred wattage with a higher Ohm coil. However, that's not to say your "sweet spot" will still be attained. Adding wraps of wire does change the vape, so even though the Ohm to power would be equal, the vape could be different.

Thanks. I guess it's time to take the plunge and just get a high watt regulated mod.

Vape quality goes like so:
Sub-ohm = Mechanical and regulated.
+1. OHM = Regulated.

Mechanical mods ( The batteries ) can produce a great amount of power the lower you ohms are. It's just pure common knowledge. The battery has no circuitry so there's only one mode which is full output. The higher the resistance ( ohms ) = less power from the battery.

Regulated mods ( batteries/circuitry ) are able to give you the same amount of power that you would get from a super sub ohm build on a mech, but at .8 up to 1.8 ohms, because there's circuitry. This allows you to set your power output above and beyond that resistance level.

To second Shootist statement if you give a .3 ohm coil on a regulated device the same power that is being drawn from a mech than yes the vape should be the same. The regulated device has an upper hand with higher ohm builds but super sub ohms is still the mech mods territory. Now if you want some power get a dual 26650 unregulated box mod and forget all of this LOL VAPE ON!

The ipv3 goes to .1ohms. But you wont get .1 wattage. On a full battery that is 176watts. The ipv3 is 100w and they are upgrading the firmware to run up to 150w. But that is stupid. Why? Because there is no way with all that circuitry that will be sustainable. That equipment will fail. And a simple search on Google will prove that true. A mech is still your best option for sub ohm builds. With the battery being your biggest limiter. That 176w comes at a dangerous 42 amps. .13 is my current safe-ish build number. I just can't justify the price for those box mods when I can grab a quality clone for 50$ or less.

This is just ridiculous.

If you put that same .3 ohm coil on a regulated mod, that can handle a .3 ohm coil, at the same voltage/wattage as what the mech is putting out the vape would be the same.

You are comparing Apples to Oranges.

I don't think you understood my post. I'm wanting to build higher ohm coils (1+ohm) and wanted to know if a 50+ watt regulated device will allow me to reproduce the same warm vape that I get on a 0.3 ohm mech mod.

Thanks. Now I know what my next vape purchase will be after the 50 watt reg mod. Do you know of any dual 26650 unregulated box mods on the market? Sounds like I wouldn't have to change out the batteries for like a day.., maybe 3/4 day lol.

A lot of regulated mods don't allow you to go under 1.0 ohm. I personally prefer mech mods. :)

I love mech mods!!! Their simple, to the point, sleek, sexy, high maintenance at times (oxymoron to simple, but I'm talking about the copper ones), and just a great device to vape on. What makes it hard is, after about 10 to maybe 15 vapes, the quality goes down in warmth and flavor for me.

So far there are two that come to mind.
-Cell Block Mods
-Brick House

I like the look of both. They're both sleek and when you pop the battery cover off all the internals look nicely covered up. I like Cell Block Mods because of the options your given. You can get a dual 18650, 26650, regulated, unregulated, vv/vw or just vv. They really have a nice selection of colors as well. Brick house mods has nice colors too, but the nice thing is the 16GA copper battery contacts LOL super nice!

Get a ipv v3 or sigelei 100 watt . I have ipv v2 50 watt and Sigelei 100 watt. I have to say I dont use the whole 100 watt. My current build is .6 ohm at 75 watts thats my prefrence. On these mods you got options though I build 1.0 ohm coils push higher watts get great vape off that as well. I like mechs but my box mods are my all day vapes. More options esp with the 100 watts. If I want to build a .15-.2 ohm coil Ill use a mech seems silly to me to do these builds on these box mods. 150 watts seems little much but theyll keep raising the wattage as long as ppl want it. In my opinion you can get the same vape with higher ohm coils on higher wattage box mods as you can with a .2 ohm build on a mech but hey thats just my opinion.
