The coil resistance is irrelevant. 2x HG2 can safely offer up to 120 watts.

In a regulated device the batteries do not see the coil resistance like in a mechanical mod. So as long as you are within the limitations of the device the load on the battery does not change should you be using a 0.1 ohm coil or a 1 ohm coil at the same power.

And what would happen to the batteries if the regulated device's limitations were exceeded, building too low for example ?. That is if the device allowed it (which i doubt).

If your resistance falls within the limitations of a regulated device you are fine. But as I demonstrated above, there is no connection between resistance and power with a regulated device.

We set our power to mitigate ramp up time (time it takes a coil to reach a desired temperature.). This is affected by the mass of the coil, not it’s resistance.

You can set a higher power, thus put more strain on the cell by drawing current above it’s recommended CDR. But you cannot exceed the limitations of the device – it would not function. And again, the resistance is not dictating the current draw from the batteries with a regulated device.

Sorry that I didn’t give the info, I’m just trying to not be one of those people that vents a battery. Everything is brand new
What we need to know:

What is the make and model of the device(s) you are using?

This includes the mod and any removable batteries. This may be an AIO be it a pod or something else (1 device) a kit (may be one device or two. Mod and atty), a mod and atty which are sold separately (2 devices. More if there are removable batteries)

sure. IF that’s what he has. The problem is we don’t know what he’s got.

Display should read something like, "Ohms too low", "Low atomizer", "Low ohms". A regulated mod won't fire as the protection circuitry has been activated.

Like I already said, it’s a Rincoe MechMan 228W with 2 LG HG2’s...
So using two LG HG2 batteries the most your mod can put out is 120 watts. Each HG2 can put out 60 watts.

Even though your mod claims to put out 228 watts, its ability to do so depends upon the amp rating of the batteries used. The most your mod could put out would be 180 watts using two 30 amp batteries (90 watts X 2). There are no 18650 batteries that can put out more than 90 watts each, as there are no 18650 batteries with higher than 30 amps continuous discharge rate.

Bomber – not to single your comment out, but there is no connection between resistance and power in the context of a regulated device. I currently have in front of me 2 atomizers, one at 0.13 ohms and the other at 0.53 ohm. Which is set at the higher power? Removing any variances between airflow and juice saturation I could even tell you how much power is needed to raise each of these coils temperature by a given amount and offer an accurate time frame (ramp up)

Another way to view this is, say you have a Kanthal coil (can be any metal) of 24awg, 7 wraps around a 3mm ID. What does removing a wrap do to the overall resistance and mass of the coil and how is that effected by power?

On the flip side we also have coils running in Parallel which physically doubles the mass and electrically halves the resistance. This would require more power. But same coils in a series config would also double the mass but double the resistance. Again requiring the same additional power. Clapton type coils are essentially a Parallel circuit.
That's what I was thinking, but if I may try to summarize, in an attempt to clarify, in a regulated mod, coil mass has much more to do with effective wattage.

I bought this whole set up wanting only one thing. Flavor. My pod system and stick wasn’t giving it to me, so I’m not worried about clouds. I just wanted to know if running a low ohm build would hurt anything or if I needed to buy different batteries. And I’m pretty sure I probably won’t be running 100w+
You'll be fine. Your mod can safely fire the resistance of the coil you mentioned. You likely won't be going higher than 120 watts on the batteries, so the HG2's will be fine, also.

I suggest getting an extra pair of batteries in addition to what you already have. That way you can continue to vape should the first pair require charging. Keep the batteries paired up, or "married" so that they age equally and remain equal in performance.

Don't charge batteries in the mod, use a Li-ion charger. Don't charge batteries over night while you sleep.

That was my next buy before actually using this setup, do you recommend a specific brand or model? Probably a 2 bay just to save money.

I would suggest either an Efest LUC 2 bay or Xtar VP1. Affordable, reputable brand name, wide availability.

Hmm. Must have missed that. Sorry. Well assuming the HG2s are genuine (which has been a world wide problem as of late. HG2s are widely and well counterfeited) batteries aren’t going to be an issue. I don’t know anything about that particular mod myself. What matters is what board it is running. I’ve never heard of the manufacturer so it’s unlikely they make their own. I’ve got enough to look stuff up though now. Information incoming..

Ok looked at it. It appears to be widely sold but the company does NOT seem to want to talk about which board they are using. Their company website seems to imply it is their own with a picture, but personally I kinda doubt it. Someone else with more experience with individual boards might be able to tell from the screen size and other data. That’s not in my personal skill set though. It claims to have multiple protections though which is the pertinent thing. The above 200w thing is probably crap in that there exist no batteries currently that could safely power it at that level. @Punk In Drublic quoted 120w as being your practical maximum. That’s a lot though. I’ve never vapes above 100-110w myself and then only did it because of special circumstances. My personal normal wattage is more like 30-40w.

Don’t go over 120w and you should be golden.
