I got the natural by smoktech a couple weeks ago. Its been working great, but when i use it with an 18490 AW IMR battery it has to have a gap or two when i screw the mod together it just can't screw together all the way. I've adjusted the bottom pin near the button and the top positive connection to no avail. It still works in 18500 mode just doesn't look and feel as nice as it does in 18650, or 18350 mode. I don't know if anyone has any suggestions to solve this with minimal modding. Also there is no configuration i've found where i can use an 18350 with a kick, which would be nice. Oh yeah and when i use an 18490 and a kick theres also a gap. Any ideas guys?

Flat top batteries. I don't believe AW makes flat tops, or I just haven't seen a vendor carry it.
I use the EH 18500mah flattop in mine with a Kick and i don't have any gaps. If I put an EFEST 18500mah in I do have gaps.

i got a couple a wile ago, gave one to a friend and kept the other... now i pull mine out to use it and notice some issues. I can't get a 18650 flat top or button top to fit in it. Both are too big and leave a gap. I cant use a 18500 flat top or button top with my kick, that also leaves a gap. Some of the battery's are efest some are no names.

I'm using AW18650's with no gaps at all. I do have gaps with stacked 16340's but only use that configuration to dry burn coils clean.

it performs well for me, it threads nice, its attractive, the button works well. It fits best with either 18350 AW batteries in short mode or 18650 AW batteries in long mode. I've just been using it in 18350 mode with AW 18350s. I like the short mode and it fits well in my hand that way, but if you're someone who uses the kick i would suggest you go for a "precise mod", a "bolt", "silver bullet" or the "Kamry K100", unless you have the coin to shell out on fancy mods. I own a K100 and its great. They're also readily available and inexpensive.

If you didnt know, it was not intended to be used with the 490. They actually made a 490 extension for that. I can't remember top of my head who has it but a simple Google search should yield some good result =) I'm on my small phone or I'd do that for you =)

I wasn't, but the op was. I was using the 18500 plus the kick... which equals the length of a 18650 battery.

I'm having the same problem in 18650 mode, but all I could get from the selling vendor were trustfires, have AW IMR batteries coming soon, if there's still a gap I guess I'll be grinding down the pins so they fit, need about 2-3mm to completely close it. It's kinda frustrating as an 18650 should be 18mm wide 65 mm long....and this trustfire is 67mm long.
pretty minimal about .2 on mine when i got it then I sanded down the contact points and its pretty much zero now but YMMV
i tested one out today it was ehh could be better or maybe i just dont like the pinky buttons
