Hey guys. After hearing what people have to say about the ProVari I got one. I decided to drip but honestly I don't know much about that method of delivery; I don't know much about ecigs for that matter. I have a few questions:

1) How many puffs should I expect from 3 drops of e-liquid? It didn't seem like I had a choice in atomizers so I got what the store had...
2) Can I chain multiple puffs in succession? The second hit usually has a burnt taste if I take it right after the first.
3) Every now and then, e-liquid leaks out between the battery and the atomizer; why?

I just want to make sure I am handling the product correctly. From what I've heard, the ProVari is "a workhorse." I don't want to break it by pushing it to its limits though. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hi, and welcome to ECF!

I'm a bit confused by the title of your post, since none of your questions relate directly to a Provari. But I'll try to answer your questions anyways...

1. 3 drops is really not even enough juice to wet a wick! However, depending on what wick material is used and how much of it, you should get a few hits from 3 drops.

2. This question has way too many variables to answer given the amount of information provided. Dry hits after several puffs is typically a sign of poor wicking or a wick that is being choked... i.e., coils wrapped too tight around the silica or cotton... but again, not enough information to answer properly.

3.Can you post a pic of your setup or tell us what atomizer you are using on your Provari? Leaks are unfortunately too common with some\most atomizers, but if you give us some info on what you are using, maybe we can help you pinpoint the problem and possibly point you in a better direction.

Hey Megabyt, sorry about the misleading title. I should have figured the atomizer and such are not specific to the ProVari. Like I said, I don't know much about E-Cigs. To answer your questions:

1) I don't think my atomizer has a wick; but what do I know. If I had to explain it I'd say it has an exposed coil on the bottom, right in the middle. Surrounding the coil is -- what looks to me -- like something to absorb the E-Liquid. Should I be dripping E-Liquid to the point where it starts pooling in the atomizer?

2) Fair enough. Could you tell me if E-Cigs, specifically ones with drip setups, are able to deliver multiple puffs in a short span of time?

3) The way my house is set up, I wouldn't be able to take a quick picture that would have enough lighting to properly show you how my E-Cig is set up.

So you bought the Provari - but not from Provape, I'm assuming, with a Protank? Did you get the little 510 Joyetech atomizer? If yes, then you can indeed only put a few drops in - that thing is tiny. It's really only for testing different juice - not for having a real vape session imo (although). To use one of those (or a 306 atty) you just put in a few drops, take a vape or two, and put in maybe 3 more drops. It's easy to flood them and a total pia as far as I'm concerned! But adequate in a pinch for testing different juice.

If you're new to vaping you need to start with a clearomizer or a cartotank - both will hold several mls of juice!

Mr. Jones, I went with dripping because it seemed like it involved the least amount of resupplying. The less I have to deal with mail order delivery or driving to a brick and mortar, the better. If there are other options, I would appreciate the suggestions.

I'm totally into the Sophia rebuildable atty with just about any tank going. The higher end tanks are great like the GP SnP which is very hard to come by or the Scuba from Atmistique which you fill through a port in the base. I use the vaperfexion pro tank a lot. To be fair the Sophia works better on the Mecha Bod than the Provari but despite a few issues it's still a good system.

Hi. I have a Provari Mini and I drip on a Joye 510 atomizer. I am going to hook you up to a link that is all about using an old school dripping atomizer. Here you will find pages of posts, most by long time drippers and you can learn how to drip and maintain your atomizer. Lots of good info and good people. I have been vaping for almost 8 months now and 95% of the time I drip. I prefer the ritual and the flavor. It does take a bit of practice.

Welcome to ECF and glad you could join us here. Keep asking questions.

AmandaD,

I got it from a local brick and mortar; I didn't want to deal with shipping so the extra cost and such were worth it to me. Are there ProVari-compatible atomizers capable of holding enough E-Liquid to allow say... 20+ puffs?

No little 510 atty won't give you 20 puffs, but the poster above me has given you a great link! If you want to drip and get that many puffs, you'll need to go to something like an RBA - a Kayfun etc. But these have to be rebuilt and might be a pain for you. When I drip with my Provari I use a little Ego-L which is simple to rebuild - but then again you have to be willing to rebuild. And you still won't get 20 puffs out of a drip (well I don't anyway!)
You have lots of great options, but you may not want to limit yourself to just dripping. If you find clearos a pain consider using something like a cartotank. Once you've primed the cartomizer (easy) it goes into a tank and can be good for 30 mls of juice (you just keep refilling the tank until the carto is dead). I like the ones from IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us! They work consistenly, and the vape is extremely good.
