So I have seen this product called the "Riva", I am sure most of you know what I am talking about. Well it has me a bit confused because it seems like an upgraded JoyE eGo. So is it a like a JoyE eGo v2 or is it made by some other company? I was also wondering what the differences really are, because it just seems like a bigger battery, gold band instead of chrome and a better manual button?

It's not made by Joye. It is made by Hello (well, at least the printed circuit board is).

As you noted, it is stated to have a slightly higher capacity, "gold" accents, and a rubberized button. Many people prefer this unit over the original "eGo".

I've been vaping now for 15 days... bought my first from Vaporescense in Denton, Tx. When I came in, Greg (the owner) initially tried to steer me away from what I actually purchased which was the Joye 510... He seems to be (I should reword to IS) a very good judge of people - because he originally steered me towards the Riva. Well, 13 days later, and I was looking at the Riva when he got a shipment of eGo's in...

Looking at the two - there was really no difference whatsoever between the two. Talking to Greg, he said its really a toss-up between the difference in battery life... "Some say the Riva, Some say eGo" it all really depends on how you vape. I personally found the difference in button's really no big deal... what turned me onto the eGo - was simply that he had Stainless -- I just liked the look of it over the riva... Yup - Color was the difference for me.

Now, knowing a few others who bought the Riva - all I've heard is good things about it... I'm extremely happy with my eGo and the fact that everything is interchangable with my Joye just makes it even better for me. (The same thing goes for the Riva)...

I think choosing between the two - its all in a matter of what one you think fits you best. I was a pack a day smoker, switched to vaping, and get a full day from my battery. I hear the same life out of a Riva owner I know... so that's my personal take on them...

What exactly does a LR atty do?

It mimics a 5V experrience.
Basically it gives your more vapor so you can have a greater hit or take shorter puffs.
Does not work well with all flavors: some may become harsh or may loose flavor.
You must use a big battery (eGo, Riva or more) for it to work well.
