Have been using a Joye 510 for a couple weeks and am considering upgrading to a Riva or eGo 510. Before I do, though, I have a couple questions that I hope someone can help me with.

First, I've found that I really dislike dealing with carts + attys, so I've been dripping directly onto the atty of my Joye 510 and much prefer that particular method. If I upgrade to the Riva/eGo, can I continue to use the drip method and just buy new attys or use my existing Joye 510 attys?

As an alternative to dripping, I'm also considering buying some Boge cartomizers and trying that, which if I've done my "homework" correctly, should work as well? Can I just buy regular 510 carto's or does the Riva take a special kind of carto?

Just as a last question for now, can anyone please confirm or deny for me that the eGo and Riva are the same thing, just different names? When I compare suppliers, I see different accessories for either eGo or Riva and just want to make sure the accessories or parts are interchangeable between the two.

Thanks for any help :)

You can use any 510 threaded atomizers or cartomizers with the Riva. No need to buy new ones if you don't want to.

Rivas don't take any "special" kind of cartos. As long as it's for a 510 you're fine.

The Riva is an eGo clone, so they're basically the same thing. I have both and the atomizers and cartos fit on both.

If you do decide to try some Boge 510 cartos, you might want to consider getting a few LR Boge cartos too. They are rated at 2.0 ohm and make more vapor, but it is also a warmer vapor, which some like and others do not. In any case, do remember that cartos are meant to be disposable after 5 to 10 refills or so - though some get more, as long as they are kept wet. If vaped too dry, they begin to taste burned, and once that happens, they always will taste burned. Keep some extra atties on hand too, if you continue to prefer them. Atomizers do also burn out, or begin to produce less vapor, after a while. You cn get anywhere from one month, to six months or more on an atty. But eventually, they do have to be replaced too.

Good luck!

A 510 connection is a 510 connection, everything compatible with a 510 is interchangeable so yes, you will be able to use everything with the 510 Riva, Ego, Etc.

If you get Boge Cartos get the 2.0 ohm version to use with the Riva and Ego type batteries. They also come in 3.0 ohm but needs higher voltage at that ohm rating. I've found 2.0 ohm Boge to work best on the Riva/Ego type batteries.

For all practical purposes the Riva and Ego are the same. The button is designed a little different and the standard batteries have a little different mAh rating but not enough to be an advantage of one over the other. My advise is usually to go for the one you can get the best deal on and that's usually the Riva.

The 3.0 Ohm work fine with an eGo/Riva, if you take long slow hits which is really what you're going to need to get in the habit of with a PV. 2.0 draw hotter. They will also use your battery faster. 2.0 or 3.0 is a subjective thing.
