First thank you all so much for the warm greetings and the quick responses and advice. unfortunatley being who I am you answers brought me more questions. Almost all of you said Riva...510 and eGo. Are those Styles or brand names? Do you know if all the "sellers" on the list are good (reputable might be a better word)? I do have more questions but I do not want to overwhelm myself. Thank you all again for your patience with us Newbies.

If someone is talking about a 510 model or kit they are usually talking about a standard joye 510 ecig model which is styled like a traditional analog, however, if someone is talking about a riva/ego 510, it just means that it uses the same connection and threads (a 510 connection) for the atomizer and battery but has a fatter battery and doesn't resemble an analog. eGo/Riva's are very similar and are just different brands, though the ego is 650mah and the riva 750mah. I would use a registered seller on the list and make sure you get a 6 month warranty on batteries. Liberty Flights does seem to have the best deals right now and their product descriptions are very detailed.

510 refers to the connector style. Riva and eGo are basically the same model but made by different manufacturers. They use a 510 connector though so are compatible with the small Joye 510 and clones, generics, etc. Riva is made by Bauway I think, the eGo is made by Joye. So they're basically all 510's, but the Riva and eGo use much larger batteries. This makes them physically larger, like the size of a 40 ring cigar. The Joye 510 is a tad larger than a 100 sized cig. With the larger size of the eGo/Riva you get longer battery life. Where a standard Joye 510 will give you 1 to 2 hours on a charge, the eGo/Riva will give you 8 hours. Charge times are around 2 hours either way because the eGo/Riva use a quick charger.
As far as hardware suppliers, there's a list at the bottom of the ECF home page. It's time consuming to go through it because there's so many and a lot of them aren't going to have what you need at decent prices. There's a few that get most of my business and that I've seen good reviews for. They include:

Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA who gets most of my business. They're simply the best in terms of service.
Welcome to MadVapes LLC who get the rest of my hardware business when Litecigusa doesn't have what I need.
Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 has about the best prices on Riva's and lots of people have given good reviews.

There's lots more and others will give their opinions shortly I'm sure. Just do your homework and you'll find a good deal.

Thank you all again you are awesome. Do any of you know if there are any brick and mortar stores that we can go to near where I live? I know the mall kiosks for the most part are to be avoided but I am leaning towards the eGo and I would like to see it in real life. I suppose I should tell you where I am. I live in Wisconsin near Milwaukee. The state in not all that big so anywhere on the eastish side of the state would be good.

You might look here VaporSearchUSA. There really aren't too many BnM stores around so it's mostly a matter of luck finding one. You could also try joining the social group Behind the Cheddar Curtain and ask if there's anyone local you can hook up with to try out some gear. I know if someone asked me, I'd love to show off my toys.

I have used Liberty flights for the last 2 ego kits I have purchased. The are on sale right now I think. I have an ego, but if the price difference means a lot to you, go for the riva. I like the rubbery like feel of the ego, and it slips out of my had less often than the riva, as the riva has a shiny finish, or feel.

Liberty flights has a 6 month warranty.

Do not order from e-smokey treats unless you only want a 14 day warranty. I had 2 stop working, one was dropped on the floor (my fault of course) and one just stopped working in the middle of vaping after only 45 days. Esmokey said tough luck, and I told them I would spread the word.

The ego, and riva are awesome for the price, and last me all day. (I carry 2 fully charged egos with me to work, and both last me until midnight. I just switch. I drip in one, and use a cartomizer with my all day vape in it.
