Questions for Precise users...

I have been vaping happily on an eGO for about a year now and I am ready to take the next step in my gear. I have been drawn to the Precise since the first time I saw it I am leaning heavily to the P16. I have a couple of questions before I make my final decision:
1. What drew you to the Precise over some of the other mods out there, and are you happy with your decision?
2. I noticed on the site there are spare parts listed (switch, springs, contacts), how often are you having to replace these type of items? Do I need to keep a supply of certain items?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. For me, the reason was simple: I wanted the best! I wanted an all-mechanical PV that was of highest quality, elegant, classy, and timeless. Precise line was the only one that fit that criteria. If you are still vaping a decade from now, you could still use your Precise with pride rather than feeling like you are using something from the stone age. A Precise is not a fad or a part of some seasonal trend. It's in a league of its own with eternal qualities. This is one purchase that does not come with regrets for the most.

2. I purchased a couple of extra springs and brass screws since they are so cheap and are the only components that may eventually need to be updated.. I don'[t anticipate having to replace anything anytime soon, I just wanted to have these spares for when the time eventually comes. Whether I will need them in a year or in 10 years I don't know. Time will tell.

i chose the P18 not so much for the optional 5-6volt ability, but more for the 18650 battery. It's like the energizer bunny to me. I've thought about the P16 because i seldom use two 3v batteries in my P18, but i'm sold on the 18650. Cheap, reliable, and a work horse.

i have spare parts b/c like vaporologist said, they are available for a good price. I have never needed them in over 6 months of vaping with my P18. They are more for customization than anything. Like brass? get a brass button. Firmer spring? David offers both.

I absolutely love it being all mechanical. no worries about parts breaking....ever. The friend that sent me my P18 as a gift has many other PV's and keeps winning raffles all the time = getting new luxury PV's. His all time favorite and daily workhorse? the p18

I'm new to the Precise (18650/P18) but was drawn by the rock-solid build and minimalistic reliable mechanics. I ordered an extra spring just in case but it'll be a while to say the least. I've got a few other setups but nothing beats my Precise for my first reach. My first wood mod is coming but even that I know will be a special Go-playing event mod. Cheers, -Magnus

Thanks for the replys. I too am interested in the P18 for the high maH rating of the bat, but am worried about the size of it. Granted all I have to go on is a picture, but man it looks huge.

Huge is relative, as the P18 is one of the smallest 18650 mods, however, compared to the P16 it is big. Too big for my likes at any rate. My favorite of the bunch is the P16. Small, compact, and with an AW battery, 6-8 hours of quality vape time.

Sorry about the quality of the picture but this might give you and idea of the relative sizes.
order:- P18, P16, Ego, P10 and vapemate with 10Ml bottle.

It's quite compact.. here is a picture I posted on a review today with it next to a lil' Chuck and a 18650 battery. -Magnus

Thanks for the pics. Now I have a better idea of the scale of the P16 and P18....I just have to makeup my mind on which one I want now.

If you are not looking for a device with a 6V option and if you don't mind changing your batteries a couple of times throughout the day, my vote would be for the P16 with AW 16340 IMR batts. The size of the P16 is just so perfect IMO. If the battery life is one of the main concerns, then P18 would be the obvious choice.

Or you could just get both...

I have a terrible affliction, it's inherited from my father so it's probably genetic. If I am going to have something I have to have the best available 'something' I can possibly afford. As much as I look at my bank balance at times and lament the family curse I must admit it's served me well over the years, for example I buy tools once and once only. The same thing came into play when I was choosing a PV, I wanted something that I would still be working perfectly for years to come, I wanted what I perceived to be the best available so I bought an all stainless P16.

I wrote a review on it, it's floating about here somewhere. It's mindless drivel but I wrote it whilst it was still fairly new and I was quite literally in awe of the Precise. Since then I have used the device exclusively for five months, day in, day out. I went back a few weeks ago and re-read it to see how my feelings had changed now I was totally familiar with it and the new toy syndrome had worn off.. I found nothing had changed, I was still in love with it, the "new" toy syndrome was still there and I still stand by every single word of that sickeningly gushing review.

For someone that gets bored as easily as I do that's pretty phenomenal really.

I've replaced precisely sod-all, now't. The only thing I see as a wearable 'weak' spot in the precise is the spring and that's still as strong as it was five months ago, it doesn't even look any different to the day I first saw it. I don't know how many times it's been compressed but if I had a quid for every time I know for a fact I probably wouldn't be working again

Initially I was concerned with bat life, but iirc standard eGo batts are around 650 mAh and last around a day. Sometimes more sometimes less. If I read correctly the bats for P16 are 900 mAh so I should get a little more life out of it. I usually keep a rotation of 4 batts and the eGo's have been lasting around 6-7 months before a noticeable dropoff.

Unfortunately I suffer from the same problem. I know I will be ordering a precise for that reason and I am currently leaning towards the P16.
