Hi everyone,

I am brand new to vaping and i apologies if this has been covered a million times already, but im super confused, and your help would be really appreciated. I bought a FS EGO about 2 weeks ago because it seemed to have mostly positive reviews and was quiet inexpensive. I actually really love vaping, and I have already quit smoking real cigarettes, but i still have a few issues. I've spend many hours researching the topic, and found that that there is just too much info out there for me to get straight.

1. I am assuming that the FS EGO includes a 510 battery, an atomizer, and cartridges. is that correct?

2. It came with 5 cartridges. the carts have a hollow black plastic tip piece, and a clear plastic end piece that is filled with cotton(?) and holds the fluid. what is the best way to refill these? Ive tried 2 methods: dripping liquid into the clear plastic end thing. and putting it back over the atomizer, and dripping liquid directly onto the coil of the atomizer. The latter method seams to work a bit better, but neither is anywhere near as good as using a brand new cart. what is the optimal way to do it?? also, is the stuff inside actually cotton? can i replace it cotton balls? would it do any good?

3. what is the difference between an atomizer and a cartomizer? can i buy any 510 cartomizer and use it w/ my battery?

4. should i clean the atomizer coil? if so, how?

5. are there any potential health hazards in getting the PV fluid on my hands and tongue? It has happened a few times already, I know nicotine is poisonous, so i am a bit worried. Do i need to wash my hands and mouth out vigorously immediately after i get the liquid on it, or is it not too big of a deal?

6. Are there any good but extremely inexpensive that i should do to improve my vaping experience?

Thanks guys!

Well now.....welcome to the forum :D
#1 yes, usually 2 batteries
#2 no on the cotton (it's actually fiber) but yes on filling it....until it's kinda slushy
#3 Atomizer uses a cartridge on it and a cartomizer is atty/cart combined
#4 Occasionally, rinse it in hot water/ PGA and blow it out. Let it dry or dry it before using
#5 Tastes crappy but not terribly dangerous at all, but do wash your hands
#6 Boge LR cartos

I hope this helps a little and remember, it's just my opinion

1. Could you share the link you got this item from? I'm aware of the e-Go but FS? not so sure about. Different vendor's kits tend to offer different things, like how many batteries you get or atomizers, ect. An e-Go though, yes does have a 510 e-Go battery.

2 & 3. You're better off getting a drip tip in my opinion then continuing fussing with carts. The pull on carts suck, the juice gets in your mouth they get kinda icky. Dripping 2-4 drops onto the atomizer is good. When the flavor changes, tastes funny sorta burnt that means the atomizer is getting dry. Put another 2-4 drops on again. You may also want to consider cartomizers. They have a cart and atomizer combined and you can add a lot more juice plus can last half an hour to an hour before filling again. Dripping is a 3 piece unit, your atomizer, your mouthpiece/driptip, and the battery. Cartos are 2 peice units, cartomizer+ battery. I still have old prefilled cartridges that came with my e-Go I haven't touched.

4. You don't have to unless the pull is getting very difficult/or a nasty nasty flavor is stuck that you can't seem to vape out. It is good practice to sometimes blow it out from the open end into the napkin. It helps get out old juice. Also, you can gently blow on that end if you overfill an atomizer. You'll know if you do it. You won't be able to take a drag from your PV and juice will leak out. So it's good to have extra napkins around. There are also more intricate methods others may mention but I'm trying to keep it simple for you.

5. I'm not sure. I am sure I've gotten my juice all over myself and I seem to be fine. I was pulling a lot of flooding atty stunts for about a week. Its still always good to be careful, and wash your hands after liquid gets on you of course. So far... I'm living proof it won't kill ya. Napkins Napkins Napkins.

6. Did I mention drip tips? :p you can find them from 99 cents( good prophet link) to about $3.00. Anyone selling a drip tip for over $5.00 for a simple, plastic drip tip is price gouging. Some drip tips like, Mings are pricier but super cool looking. I personally like to keep it simple myself. Still being new myself.... Well, thats all I got for now!

Welcome to ECF! You'll be fine in no time.

This is a great idea. You can also just pull the fuzz out of the cart for a temporary mouthpiece.

If touching nicotine did any damage I wouldn't be here today :). It's a good practice to wash it off but I vape 24 mg and am a bit of a sloppy refiller - think I smell like ectoplasm juice right now (thinking of dabbing some behind the ears).

+1 on both of the posts above and definately try a cartomizer. I like the atomizer w/ drip tip and cartomizers but was incredibly dissapointed w/ cartos. Very few people stick w/ them they're kinda ucky and just not a good hit. Boge low resistance are wonderful for your setup.

Absolutely. I did that for a while until I got my first drip-tip. Oh ya, I mentioned this in another post.At the end of the cartridge where you place your mouth, pop off the little plastic end bit. It fills up with condensation, juice that will end up getting into your mouth. Not fun when you get a mouthful of that. With the plastic end off it's easier to clean before it gets into your mouth.

So what exactly does "eGo" and "510 refer to? is it just the battery size? does that it refer how physically large it is, how long it lasts, or how strong it is? can you use, for example, a eGo with a 510 carbomizer?

510 is the connection size. eGo is the model of PV/ e-cigg you are using. you can absolutely use an eGo with a 510 cartomizer. The eGo's connection size is 510, so if you are looking to purchase drip tips, atomizers, ect they need to be 510 compatible.

...the first thing to do is ditch the atty and carts...just a plain PITA and is one of the first things most of us do to improve the experience...as others stated, get a couple of drip tips to use with the atty and direct drip...I find this a bit more fiddly than I car for so my number one recommendation to you is goto Crystal Clear Vaping and pick up a bundle(15) of their Boge2.0ohmLR cartos...included with the bundle will be 2 drip tips, a syringe and free shipping...these cartos will raise your vaping experience to a whole new level.......

I have to disagree on ditching the atty and carts. Try a carto, but you may find(like I did) that you don't get much flavor with them compared to attys. I loved the cartos but just could not taste anything

...and I had the exact opposite experience...we are all different and that makes the world go round and round...the only thing I found attys good for was getting a taste of a new flav without dirtying up a carto.......

Someone on here mentioned that they purchased a FS 510. I don't know if it's the case with the pv that you purchased but according to them the charger & batteries were reverse polarity and when they attempted to charge other 510 batteries with the charger that came with their kit, it killed the batteries.

If you ever purchase more batteries or another charger, I'd check to see if this is the case with your kit. In other words, you may be only to charge your FS batteries with the charger that came with your kit. And you can't charge other batteries on the charger that came with your kit.

This is from myPV shop

CHARGER COMPATIBILITY ISSUES

CHARGERS FOR EACH MODEL AND BATTERY TYPE ARE DIFFERENT
CHARGERS SHOULD ONLY BE USED WITH THE MATCHING BATTERY

Use Joye 510 chargers only with Joye 510 batteries
Use Joye eGo chargers only with Joye eGo batteries
Use FS 510 chargers only with FS 510 batteries
Use FS eGo chargers only with FS eGo batteries

myPVshop Electronic Cigarettes - 510/eGo Electronic Cigarette

Nothing wrong with your PV. Or with myPVshop. Just be aware of this. If you get another battery, get the same one.

*I do charge other non-Joye ego batteries on my ego charger. But I don't have FS ego batteries.
