hey everyone, been reading the forum for advice on which e-cig to get. Decided to go with the 510 but figured I'd ask about what would be best for me, since I'm a light smoker. I don't plan on quitting..for me it's more of a stress release thing...days im stressed i will smoke up to 6 cigs..and days im not..can be 2-3 cigs. its been like this for about 2 years. before that i only smoked when i would drink..so an occasional smoker. like i said, i dont want to quit doing it, but want to stop the analogs for the obvious reasons.

im also getting one for my dad as well...hes a diff story. been a smoker for 30 years..pack a day. he wants to quit smoking..tried several times of course. he wants to replace with this as well.

so my question is would a 510 be fine for both of us? I'm obviously not going to be using it alot, so i dont mind having to charge it or whatever. but basically want something that is easy to use..easy to maintain. same with my dad, he wants to just use something that when he gets the urge to smoke, he can go with that.

thanks in advance for the responses

The 510 will be fine for both of you, but you will likely want different liquids, certainly different strengths. As a light smoker, you may need only 12mg or even less to be fully satisfied. Your dad may need up to 24mg for it to be satisfying enough to give up the cigs. In either case, the 510 comes highly recommended with the eGo even better if you don't mind parting with the extra cash.

Best of luck and wlecome to the ECF!

+1 for the eGo for your father. As a heavy smoker (2+ PAD), I found the eGo could keep up with me. The batteries on a 510 won't last long if you vape heavily! After watching a co-worker (lighter smoker) having to change out batteries all day long, I know it would have been way too frustrating for me at first. With the eGo I could get a good 10+ hours. Buy a kit though so he'll have the other battery charged and ready for him.

Glad to have you aboard!

Appreciate the responses.

I went on one site( rocky mountain) that was recommended on here, but just about all of their stuff is out of stock. What other places are great for 510's...pricing, etc? I guess I will just order the two start up kits for now, and then replace as needed. Dont really want flavored juices..just the tobacco taste is fine by me.

Hello and Welcome....
You sound like my wife and me....i.e. Wife hardly smokes,,,while I used to smoke about 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day...I finally got the Ego and she got the 510....I suppose you both can use the 510,,,,but for your father,,,I worry that it would not be "good"
enough..as far as vapor and TH...not counting the battery life of a 510 verses an Ego/Tornado..
Suggestion: If you two can afford it...Each of you should order what works for you...
You...Joye 510 with extra low nic... Him....Ego/Tornado with extra nic 16 or above...
As always,,,this is a learning experience...There is no one answer to fit all..like in school... Take care and let us know what you did....Every little bit of info helps..
and of course ....Enjoy the Adventure....

I am looking for a good e cigarette for my dad, too.
He has smoked for 35years. I am woundering what kind of e cigarette is the best for him.

Yet again... It depends a lot on his needs.
Is he a light (510) or heavy smoker (eGo)?
Does he get frustrated easily (2 piece KR808) or like to tinker around (3 piece 510 or eGo)?

These are just the most popular models currently. There are a ton of options.

I would suggest reading (and getting him to read) the Wonderful World of Vaping found in the ECF Library section. It explains a lot about the process and shows some of the basic models.
