Buy manual batteries - they are totally sealed metal on the threaded end so they are safe from being damaged or killed by juice leaks. Manuals also will not turn on accidentally in wind or vibration, and they make it easier to get a good hit. In addition, it is safe to use a drip tip on the atomizer for testing juices.

Buy Joye brand only because there are some poor quality clones and at least on reverse polarity clone with a charger that will fry a normal 510 battery

Also IMO do not buy a 510-T kit - their 510-T charger can fry normal 510 batteries. If you want to try tanks you can buy a 510-T tank atty and tanks later and try them on normal 510

Check the following shops:
Liberty-Flights.com and press the 20% off upper left first
LiteCigUSA.net
Cignot.com (but I heard they have their name added to the batteries of their Joye 510 nobox kits)

Please be aware of the very short battery life. 100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping. Joye 510 is 180mah. You can add some long Joye 510 mag xl batteries to your setup and those are 280mah (though fairly long at 128mm w/ a cartomizer)

And buy eliquid!!

After you have learned to use the atomizer and cartridges, try the most popular way to vape 510 for your favorite juices: Boge cartomizers (and slim 510 requires the standard resistance ones. The hotter LR ones are only for batteries 450mah+ which are fat battery models and mods). I use the atomizer and drip tip to test juices and vape ones that don't earn cartomizers. And cartomizers for my favorite juices.

And take a look at the PCC at NoSMokeVA (search for PCC and the $29.95 one is the PCC alone). You could also consider buying a complete manual kit there - at least we know their kit is the correct polarity since I am using that PCC with normal Joye 510 batteries.

Welcome to ECF 4thepackers. If you are in the market for your first E-cig, the 510 is a pretty good one to start with. Or, look at some KR808d-1 models. I think you can find both here: E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings for around 30 dollars. (Use the 20% discount button before you add something to your cart)

As with any e-cig, you will need spare items, such as extra atomizers for the 510, and extra cartomizers for the KR808d-1.

Also, you will need to order some e-liquid or prefilled cartridges/cartomizers. Refilling is preferred by most over buying prefilled.

Look here E Cigarette, E-liquid - Vapor Station for sampler packs or FreedomSmokeUSA

Buy a number of small samples rather than a large container. When you find one you like, order the larger size. Most samples are 3 or 5ml size.

Also, order juice in various strengths. I recommend starting with 18mg or 24mg nicotine.

Hope that helps get you started. This forum is a vast storehouse of information. Ask any specific questions you want. Don't be shy.

I highly recommend starting out with an EGO and some Boge 510 cartomizers. I originally started with a cheap standard 510 cigarette sized battery and did not like it at all. I got on youtube and ECF and did some research and decided to try the EGO and I'm glad I did. I have moved up since then but I still love it and use it when I want something more discrete. Hope this helps and good luck!
