Hey all,
I've trying to kick the habit again and haven't had much luck. I've tried E cigs before about 1-1.5 years ago. Mostly ones like Blu but i did try a 501, if I recall the name correctly. I've been a pack a day smoker for 15 years. Winston Lights was my pleasure. My biggest problem is that I could never find a flavor even close to my winstons and I missed the tobacco taste. Also, I felt I could never get a real "hit" off the e cig like I could on my Winstons. I know there have been great strides in the industry in the last year or so, so I'm here to ask you guys, especially Winston smokers, What's the best cig out there right now and what juice is the most like real tobacco flavoring, especially like my Winston's? I don't care about cost, because my health is worth it! Let me know your opinions! Thank you!

First, don't get frustrated if you can't find the juice you like right away. Most of us had to try numerous juices until we hit on the right one. You'll probably find that the juice you like doesn't taste anything like your Winstons. I didn't want anything that tasted like a cigarette actually. However, I think 555 juices mimic cigarettes pretty close. I tried it a few times and as I remember, it was the closest.

Also, I didn't quit smoking right away. I continued to smoke a few cigarettes (actually little cigars was my thing) until I found a suitable juice, then I gradually did away with the cigars altogether and haven't had one in over two years.

Last, I went all in right away and bought a good mod, one that produced a lot of vapor and I stayed away from the cheaper, small ecigs although there have been good improvements on the smaller ones over the last few years. It takes some experimentation, you can get a lot of good ideas on this forum, and don't get frustrated just because it takes you awhile to find the right fit.

My roommate was in the same boat a couple weeks ago, and didn't think he could quit smoking because he couldn't find any tobacco juices that tasted like a camel light. It wasn't until he gave in and tried some other flavors that he realized the truth: nothing is going to taste like his favorite analog, but that doesn't mean that nothing is going to taste good. In fact, after vaping for a few weeks, you may find that analogs are actually quite gross. We just got used to the taste of burning ammonia and tar.

I think the misconception comes from the name. Since it's an electronic CIGARETTE, it should taste like burning tobacco, right? Unfortunately, that's not the case. Nothing tastes like burning tobacco except burning tobacco. E-cigs boil propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine. They're so completely different from analogs that there's just no way to make them taste the same.

When we started smoking analogs, most of us ended up trying quite a few brands before settling on the one that had a flavor we liked. E-cigs are no different, and you'll have to try a few and find a flavor that you enjoy. It's not going to be winston. Only winston cigarettes taste like that, and even then, only when lit. But, since e-cigs use food flavorings, there's going to be some that you really enjoy. It's just a matter of keeping an open mind and trying things out. If you happen to live near a store that specializes in vaping, check them out and see if they have samples for you to try in the store. Many of them do, and it makes it MUCH easier to decide on a flavor after you've tried a few. Just keep at it. You'll be smoke-free and breathing easier soon!

I started vaping NOT wanting to quit. I have 2 smallish kids (my 6yr old is 4'5...so little is subjective) and I didn't want them inhaling all this second hand smoke from my clothes etc, or the car when we'd drive to chicago 16hrs and I'd actually smoke around them, and I was tired of feeling like some sort of social pariah around other adults ESPECIALLY when kids around (parks, etc)
didn't intend to quit, but atleast cut back and have another option around kids and so forth.

right away I was down to 1-3 a day, did that for awhile then stopped (ran out) and didn't buy more.
haven't really missed it. a few times i've been like "damn, I could use a smoke" but funny enough when around another smoker I didn't want to....the smell got me.

I did this with biting my nails too, tried to quit I don't know how many times...never could.
one day...I just stopped. haven't since.
same with smoking, tried and failed. didn't try....success!

don't stress about it is the big thing. I would vape a bit and if I still wanted a cig i'd do that.
slowly I was like "yuck, don't like this...like THIS better"

I kind of thought of it like changing cigarette brands. They all taste different, and when you try a new brand, it doesn't taste right, but after a pack or two, you get used to the new brand and all is well. I guarantee if you were marooned on an island with nothing but cigarettes you didn't really care for, you would go right ahead and smoke them, and probably like them in a few days.

I went from Marlboro ultra lights to a tobacco flavor that reminded me of Camel cigarettes. It was a little weird tasting for a few days, but after a week had gone by, I smoked 1/2 of a cigarette and it tasted awful to me so I ditched it.
