Hey All: So I’ve had my New Upgraded products for a couple weeks now. I started using my first Rebuildable the Phoenix A7 Atomizer. It’s a Pretty Cool Little Assembly! So I’m messing with it trying some different Flavors. I’ve found that I’m getting hits with it that are Kinda Burnt Tasting not really a dry hit there’s plenty of Vapor but this slightly unpleasant taste!?? So, I have some questions? First off is this more of a Dripping Atomizer? It really doesn’t seem to hold very much ejuice. I really don’t understand why I’m getting the slightly burnt taste even when I adjust the Voltage? I seem to get the best results while it’s on the Non-Variable Gripper? One thing it looks real good on the Gripper! I like the idea of Re-building but it seems I need more info or time using it? Maybe I need to Build my First Coil setup? Go Stainless Mesh not Cotton or Poly? Oh, then there's Ceramic! What are your thoughts on this?

Thanks

Are you using the prebuilt wick/coil? Do you have the wick fully soaked ? When I first got mine in, I noticed that the prebuilt coil was sitting a bit to high up and getting hotter than it could wick the liquid. Once i pushed it down a bit and wrapped one end of the wick over top of the coil it was all good.

Hey Black Helix: Thanks for the Reply! I just recently started using it. The OEM Coil sits low in it just below the lower post. I don’t know anything about the Phoenix I thought they were a small tank but when you put fluid in it does not hold much it fills up to the vent hole quickly! I’ve been dripping approximately 6 drops at a time using it as a Drip device. Is it supposed to be a Drip Atomizer? I have not read anything to the fact? Anyway, as far as for dripping it does work well Great Taste Tons of Vapor! But you have to refill quite often! I’ve been experimenting with mixing flavors using it exclusively on the gripper with great results! I will consider the wick over the coil as you’ve done.

I always had the same problem with the Phoenix

Hey Agzle: Thanks for the reply! Ok, so you have the same problem was there anything that you did to remedy it? Any mod or what? Do you still use it? With the photos you can see the layout of the Phoenix with the placement of the vent hole. Not much room for your eJuice! I'm wondering why it is set up like this? Does anyone know why? Is it strictly for dripping?

Thanks

the a7 is a dripper and the stock wick is kinda lacking. a fatter and bit longer wick works wonders in it.

Thanks Thrasher! Yeah the wick does look kinda short & thin I could see how a better wick could help. I have yet to purchase materials for building my own I’m still trying to figure that out? Been looking and reading, there are so many opinions, options with a ton of info on building them.

I’m finding were to start a harder problem! I know it’s all up to what works best for each individual and their equipment so I don’t want to get too much of any one type or size of wire or wick material. Would you care to share what works best for you & why?

Does anyone else have an opinion on where to start with on type & gauge of wire as well as type of material for building wicks for the Phoenix A7?

Thanks

I don't have this one, I use a IGO-L I believe and I use 32guage wire and I also use about 3" of wicking. None of the drippers I have seen hold more than about 10 drops. Its a fine line from overfilling and leaking to under filling and burning. My coils are wrapped in the 2.0 to 2.5 range. I start my voltage at 3.7 and go from there. I like a more cool vape so I personally don't go above 4.7 volts. Although I love dripping I will mostly use my glass tank-carto or my aga-tiamat. I will use this combination of the 3 every day. I hope this helps.

Hey Jimmy: Thanks for the reply! I’m finding that fine line too! I’ve cleaned up a few messes already and forget about knocking it over! I’m getting around eight drops depending on the Juice and whether it’s PG, VG? Got those Hot Burning Hits too! Ugh! I find if I tip it back after the first few hits it wont burn.

I sure like the look of that IGO-L I! The stubby look on the larger thicker units looks good! So did you experiment with wire & wicking to get where you’re at? I’ve been using the Phoenix A7 on my Gripper so I will need to experiment with resistance (I like the cool to warm vape) to find the sweet spot!
