Right now smoking is killing me and literally killing my pocket book. My husband has been laid off work for a year now. We both smoke, and we are breaking ourselves to do it. I'm having a very hard time just quiting, I've tried the patches, but they don't do me any good as I just smoke while I'm wearing one. I 'm sitting here surrounded by a big jar of licorice and some Tootsie pops we bought, but I still can't seem to stop. So I went looking for alternatives, I've heard of the e cig before and wanted to know more about it. From what I've read it seems like it might be my best way to quit.

I called a local shop and they sell the njoy for like $80.00, and the cartridges for like $20.00 well I can tell you that $80.00 doesn't abode well for my pocket book. I was wondering if anyone could point me in a better direction somewhere I might be able to afford getting started as well as any other tips or pointers.

Thanks so much,
Angel

You can realistically expect to spend around $100 to get started. A good e-cig will run you in the ballpark of $50-75. A couple samplers of juice to find one you like and a couple cartomizers to help with "flavor" separation would be good to start. Once you dial into a flavor you like, unless you get bitten by the flavor/toy bug, it can be cheaper. For instance, a juice you like might be no more than $15-20 for a 30 ml bottle, which would last somewhere in the vicinity of 10 days and a pack of cartomizers around $10. So you might need $45 worth of juice and $30 worth of cartos for a month. I don't know about you, but I was spending a lot more than that a month on cigarettes.

Check out the forum suppliers list But to start with cheaply...or at least relatively so...my hubby and I got our kits from ecigarettecigar.com we started with the DSE 901 kit for 41.00
this kit comes with two batteries a charger two atomizers 5 cartridges and a bottle of juice
It really is a good deal. We have had a good experience so far with this. I am up to almost 50 days tobacco free and my hubby is a week behind me.
Also once you have enuff posts to do so you might want to join the pay it forward group (PIF)

It depends if you want a 3 piece or 2 piece:) For a 3 piece 510 I would recommend www.cignot.com 510 no box kit for $35. For 2 piece I would recommend www.vapor4life.com He has regular sales on the vapor king.

I would also STRONGLY recommend you go to the ecf library and read the newcomer's guide to vaping. Full of good info and will get you headed in the right direction.

Don't do trial offers, mall kiosks or vendors not on this site. Some are scams and the equipment is usually over-priced crap:facepalm: Best thing I ever did was start vaping for my wallet and my lungs:D Luckily I found ECF after only making 1 dumb purchase. Good luck:)

The nobox 510 mentioned by TWolf was my first PV - in fact I only just retired it as I have an eGo (more battery life, and its about the size of an AA battery) and a Buzz (WAY more battery life but a lot bigger lol) but I didnt have the cash for some things at first so I made do with a PT (also from cignot btw they are the only place I get my JOYE stuff from) which worked out great because I'm on the PC so often (lol). It also meant that I wasn't burning thorugh my batteries and having to recharge them all the time (the one drawback with the smaller PV)
Welcome to ECF btw :)

You might want to go here and see if anyone has a starter cig that they might want to turn lose of.

I feel you pain by the way, son just got back to work a few months ago---not before he had to move back home.

I got most of my donated parts promised out, otherwise I'd send you a mod.

Good luck.

Consider me your recycling center for Njoy Pro, Smoking Everywhere Gold, Cloud 9, Smoke 51 Trio, and DSE103 useless batteries.
Other hardware if it’s still usable.
Those I loan out to/give to thank you.

It's not a genuine Joye brand 510, but it might be an inexpensive way to get your feet wet, so to speak. I ordered one on Saturday and it was here Tuesday. I also got the USB 5V passthrough, which allows you to save wear and tear on the batteries and just use electricity re-routed through your computer to power the atomizer. All told with shipping, it was $45.95. I believe it came with cartridges, but I really have only played with the passthrough so far.
