An easy trick I learned to return your cartridge to full flavor is to get a tweezer and gently tug on the filler till it comes out.
The problem is that the filler material will hold e-liquid even after the liquid has been depleted of both flavor and nicotine. (This may also apply to a cartomizer, but here I am speaking specifically about the cartridge of a three-piece PV.)
Whenever you notice that simply adding additional drops of juice to the cartridge is not producing full flavor, simply tug out the filler with the tweezer and squeeze the filler material firmly in a paper towel to remove excess e-juice. If you wish, you can rinse the filler under running water as well, but again remember to squeeze out all remaining moisture with a dry paper towel.
Push the filler about halfway back into the cartridge and add some drops of e-juice to the filler so that it is absorbed. Then push the filler material all the way back into the cartridge until it is recessed slightly into the cartridge and top it off with additional drops . Remember -- the filler must come into contact with the atomizer bridge to properly wick e-juice to the atomizer heater coil, so do not push it in too far.
At this point, you can, if you wish, add an additional drop or two of e-juice directly onto the atomizer bridge, but that is more for gaining a huge burst of flavor and vapor for your initial puffs.
So, whenever you notice your e-juice losing its flavor even after topping off the cartridge with extra drops, just pull the filler out, squeeze it dry, add fresh e-juice and enjoy!
