Quick Coil question

Just tried some new 70% pg juice on the Uwell crown with the .5 coil. I put a few drops to prime it, then tried it, and it worked great. It's rated for 80 watts, so I tried it and got what I'm pretty sure was a burnt hit. Taste was sickening. I thought these coils could even use 100 vg, and I only have 70 in it. reviews made it sound like you could chain vape it, and it would be fine.

My main question is, can you keep using a coil after having a burnt hit, or is some of the cotton ruined
? Do I need to soak it in water or anything?

Hello @Chizzler1 and welcome to ECF as for your question yes that coil will handle 70 vg no prob, how ever you realy need to saturate the coil and when you fill the tank let it sit for about 5 min or so, as for the burnt cotton you should still be able to use the coil but i personaly would replace it, or if you can get it open you can try to re wick it with some new cotton, hope that helps Happy Vaping!

Burnt cotton has to be replaced. It never heals.

once burned, its "toast" you cant un toast a toast... change the coil/wick

I wont take a new coil above 4.5V for the first tank...You cranked it up to over 6V, I don't think I ever vaped at that high a voltage

I would say put juice on top of the coil about 7-8 times, letting it soak in, then filled up the tank and let sit for a couple minutes. I could see the juice through the wicking holes. Maybe only part of the coil was saturated.

40 then stepped up to 55-60. I lot of people say they start really low then slowly step up to like 50 or something. I'll try that with a new coil.

yeah, start it really low. On my subox, I usually start my coil out on 21 for a hit or two and move it up a few watts a time until I get to 35.

Try starting at 25 watts for a couple hits, then let it sit for a few minutes before cranking it up. I usually put an entire dropper full of juice in a Crown coil prior to installation.

Youre probably using the stainless steel coils. These take a little bit of breaking in. i start off 5 quick puffs at 15 watts, then i go up 5 watts, 5 puffs, 5 watts 5 puffs. longer puffs at 30+ watts. works pretty well for me.
