Is there a reason the center, adjustable section (I'll pick up on terminology soon) is brass and not aluminum? I love the look of the brass caps on the aluminum body, but I see the brass center darkening on me very quickly.

My copper went from shiny brass to dull, bronze look in 1 day. Not sure why, probably oils on my hands. I play trumpet and trombone, and same thing happens to them where my hands touch the brass.

I can't wait to get this in hand. I ordered a few different batteries sizes to try out, and 1 of each attie. I saw vaping as as a healthier alternative to smoking, and cheaper. Healthier maybe, cheaper I don't see it yet. Maybe once I settle in on hardware and software.

Sorry for rambling. I really should post BEFORE taking pain meds heheh.

Stay safe all, and have a great day

Hi Moradiss and welcome

Would say centre section is brass because aluminium tends to bind on threads so would need a compound added to keep threads from locking

ps still recommend using Noalox takes any slack out of threads..;)

Welcome Moradiss!

Can't stress CAPE COD cleaning cloths enough.. keeps that brass part nice and clean even if you have oily skin (like I do) Thanks Stormy for this tip too!!

But yes the difference in metals is for a very good reason. Aluminum on Aluminum will bind up eventually. I have been using my Prototype TS for a long time now and never had a single problem with the brass part. Yes it needs a little attention every now and then but that is part of the whole GG experience, its like owning a Ferrari, you want to polish it often... You'll see!!

One more reason Mora is that aluminium will get tarnish soon but the tarnish of aluminium is white so when GG will stop functioning we will all ask why it doesnt work.

Another very serious reason is that brass is more durable when we use it to screw something on it. Aluminium is more weak so connector will get damaged soon in so thin diameters:)

ps....... we cant use another metal on GG because of the low electrical contactivity. I was the first one that used aluminium and brass on cigs and I had a reason for this. And I always have a reason for everything I make, I dont make something just to make it without big thoughts for it even for the simplest thing:)
