I don't find the difference to super drastic, but I'd give the edge to the derringer if we're just purely talking flavor. That said - there are pros and cons to both attys. there's actually a few things about the Tobh's design that I really don't care for, but overall I think it is an easier atty to 'use' day to day than the Derringer - mostly because it's very easy to just pop the cap off to drip. The Derringer is a little more of pain to drip with - the 2-piece design of the barrel/cap makes it tough to just pop it open. You can drip through the drip tip hole, but it's a little small and tough to evenly saturate both wicks if you're using dual coils.

Anyhow - hope that helps...

Thank you both ! I brought those two up because I'm new to flavor chasing. Got cloud chasing down good. Trying to expand my knowledge. I was in a b&ms and seen the two. But then...things changed when the marquis was brought out. I hate how that happens but I think I made a good choice. Don't usually impulse buy but this was too good to pass up. Has anyone heard anything on the marquis ?

I like the Derringer. In fact, that's one of my primary atties that is use. I had a TOBH clone before. I PIF'd it away, but it was not a bad atty. the Derringer is a pain to drip with. It works for me because I use a bottom feeding Reo.

Given the two, I would give the edge to the derringer as a flavor atty.

I actually preferred the TOBH over the Derringer. If you prefer a warmer vape, with good flavor, the Derringer fits the bill. For a cooler vape with good flavor (slightly more muted compared to the Derringer, if you can even tell the difference) go with the TOBH. I own both, but use neither - they've both been replaced with the Aeolus and Velocity.

The TOBH is an older design but is still very relevant. Flavor is good, and so is vapor production. Airflow was very good back when it was first introduced but compared to many newer designs is a bit lacking. The airflow adjustment tabs also make mounting and positioning your coils a bit tricky.

I haven't tried the Derringer yet.

I recently melted the insulator on my TOBH v2.5 clone (left it on a mechanical mod with a weak switch spring without locking the switch and it auto-fired). I decided to replace it with the CLT V3 Mini (Project Sub-Ohm edition), and it is an amazing little RDA that costs only $30 (and it's not a clone). It has an amazing balance of flavor and vapor production. I'm in the middle of writing an extensive review on it which will go into much more detail, but I highly recommend this RDA. Flavor is almost as intense as my Magma (which is a great flavor-chasing RDA, but for someone transitioning from cloud chasing the tight draw, even wide open, might not make it a good choice for you).

The Tobh got me to stick with dripping. I find the deck easy to build on since the coils are offset (no need to bend leads). I love the derringer too but takes a little more neatness to build. I use both daily only plus to Tobh is the ability to use a chuff cap and drip through.

A note on the derringer, works great with or without the inner afc ring. Just really watch how much you drip into it, as it doesn't take much to over fill. I suggest buy a clone of each and if you love one or both, then go for the authentic.

Derringer , just got the stumpy the other day i've been really liking it

I'm with thomas I'm a big fan of the Stumpy. Never used a Derringer but from what I've heard it's kinda leaky and can be a bit of a pain to build on in comparison.

Edit: I should clarify I meant a bit of a pain to build without getting spitback but from what everyone says if you build close to the afc it helps cut that wayyyy back
