Ok I'm hoping this is a yes or no question, lol. I'm about to start mixing and I need some help with ratios..

I am fine on nic/mg and even flavor. But.. percentage wise I want to make sure I am doing this right.

Recipe is as follows (assume this works out to the nic level you want to produce - numbers likely off for sake of simplicity)

100 drops total
--------------

20 drops flavoring = 20%
-
20 drops PG nic juice = 20%
-
60 drops non-nic filler = 60%
-----------

So, of that 80% if i wanted to make a 50/50 pg/vg mix I would essentially split anything that is not flavoring..

20 drops pg nic juice = 20%
-
20 drops pg non-nic = 20%
-
40 drops vg non-nic = 40%
-------------
= 50/50 blend

Is that correct or do if someone said they had a 50/50 DIY blend would they be accounting for the solution the flavoring is in as well?

Thanks for the info!

I would think that your flavoring is probably in pg ....so if you were trying to be precise ....then you would count your flavorings as pg also .... I only mix w/ vg & vg nic , so I am not an expert here ...but it sounds like your numbers add up otherwise ........

I use the juice calculator to figure out the nic juice to filler ratio,
then deal with the breakdown of the filler to make a base. make sense ?

I make an 18 mg base 1st .......
then add flavoring which reduces nic to 15-16mg ....
seems to work ...has been the easiest process I have found ........

good luck!!

Yeah, that's something I hadn't thought about...

It seems you either get your base precise and then let the numbers get fudged by adding flavor (drop nic level a bit)

or

You get your nic level and flavor level set up in the calculator and then fudge the ratio of pg/vg based on what flavoring you have (though it seems usually that is a PG base).

Alternatively I guess you COULD make the minute calculations of how much PD you are adding to the mix in the form of flavors..but that just sounds like too much work.

I think I'll give your way a shot here, thanks Kelley!

YW .... I have decided that since I just make juice for me, that the hit & miss approach is fine ....

more than 18 mg makes my head spin ,
so an 18 mg base works cuz flavoring will bring that down ...
and I usually check the numbers & am aware of how much I can add & still achieve 12 mg ...
& if I screw that up and go lower, then hey I have evening juice.

I have learned that the most important thing is to take notes on what you did do, so you can replicate the winners !!!!
