I have good luck simply using a Q-tip in and out of the coils that are large enough ID to allow it. Sometimes a little cotton needs to be peeled away and sometimes I go through 2 or 3 swabs to twist out all the gunk.

Never had a lot of luck washing/soaking the cotton/coils in water. They never came out like new for me. YMMV. Cheers.

Yeah, I also use Q-tip to clean my coils, but since I got a ultrasonic cleaner I think the machine is gonna do better than me. Can I also know how you clean your wire coils on RDAs?

On my RTAs i Dry burn tge gunk off. Don't do that if you use Nickel or Titanium coils.

I just got a ultrasonic cleaner from coil master, I just wanna ask you guys if I can just throw my coils (Both sub-ohm coils and rda wire coils) into it and let it do the clean?
My practice is to rewick every couple of days to preserve throat hit. When I do that I dry burn the coil to help get the carmelized liquid off the coil. I use minimal flavoring and no sweetners, which seems to help minimize gunking. With all of that I find it's worthwhile to rebuild every 2-4 weeks to preserve vape quality. I don't know how the vapor quality from a metal coil can degrade from being repeatedly heated to 400 degrees but it seems to happen. I don't find that anything short of dry burning will remove gunk. I don't worry about ultra cleaning everything else because e liquid does not host micro organisms. Flavoring can decline, nic can oxidize but e liquid does not seem to spoil like food.
