Q: If ecigs are banned, wouldnt the i-inhale be banned as well?

T: I'm not sure if I posted this or not, but a few years back I was in vancouver and found a nicotine "Stop smoking" device that was sold in the pharmacy (govt approved, in with the gum, patches, etc). Basically it's a white tube (about double the thickness of a 901 battery), that splits in two. Inside the tube on each half is two sharp points (with holes in the middle, angled like a needle). You buy a pack of nicotine cartridges (about the same thickness as a 901 battery) and place one inside the tube. When you push it together, it punctures the foil on either side and you're ready to go. Any time you feel the need you puff on the end (flat end) and you get a hit of nicotine. The hit is extremely hard core, but not in a good way... you feel light headed, and it burns if you take a big drag. It also leaves a horrible taste in your mouth... and best of all... there is NO smoke (being sarcastic... I love smoke).

So if nicotine liquid is banned, etc... why can't we just develope a new ecig that uses the approved nicotine cartridges (available in the store)?

I guess the issue is that I only saw this item in vancouver and it was at least 2 years ago... but you could buy the nicotine in packs of 8 I think... for not too much money.

Basically I'm asking why can't we just adapt... if the govt comes out with an FDA approved device, why can't we just use their nicotine packages, liquid, etc in our own devices? This should get around any issues.

What... are they going to tell us it's illegal to use it in a device other than their own? Perhaps all we'd have to do is use their carts and add some PG (which as far as I know is still legal to buy?)... haha

Sorry if it sounds silly... but I've been thinking about this for quite some time... why do we have to worry?

The only way I could see there being problems is if they classify nicotine as a drug.. but if that does happen, wouldn't that also affect the same industry (tobacco) that want's ecigs to vanish? pharmacy as well if we can figure out how to use their nicotine devices carts... !

I mean, I don't really care how my ecig looks as long as it's just nicotine (not interested in inhaling butane) and it produces smoke :)
