I can tell you if I had a PV that had a full screen where I could program my own start menu or an animation that happens when I vape, could be used as a flashlight without the need of putting on a new head, and anything shiney and flashy I would probably drop my savings on it, so much geek, so little money.

I will look over the thread and take a look and yes, Provari tends to strike a nerve with me due to past issues. I am hoping this is the thread where i said not all Provari people are like that, only the most vocal it seems. So far every time I have mentioned Provari I have had someone cram their fist down my throat over PM's and in forum stating that I don't know what I am talking about and I am anti-american for not using a 100% american made device, blah blah blah. My emotions take over and I tend to go off like a grenade and you are right, we do agree on several things. Personally, i don't really care what people vape on as long as they enjoy it and it fits with them. I seem to have started as a guy trying to switch away from cigarettes to a PV collector, kind of what I like. I think i have changed PV's 3 times in two months because the "Oh shiney" syndrome kicked in.

Didn't mean to make it sound like all are, just it seems a number of them are hardcore trolls who search for provari to bash on people who are not using one and don't even realize, some of us have used/tried/owned one and just did not like the device.

Anyway, I should be working right now and think I should go back to that before my "boss" decides to wake up and check on me.

Sorry but you missed your chance to have it for free

I know it hasn't been brought up but maybe a couple times, but what about the Darwin? I know they aren't produced anymore and I was just curious do the come up in the classifieds often or even at all?

From what I've read and understood, the Darwin is VERY expensive, a tad finicky and seems on the fragile side. It would be fine using around a desk all day, but I certainly wouldn't want to carry one around with me from what I know of them. I've never owned one, they seem neat, so that is just opinion.

Do you have any idea what the price range would be if I was even able to find one?

As the rumor mill tells it, he will be releasing a new version this coming year. I can't tell you if that is true just what I have heard. Now that being said I personally dislike the the Darwin as it has a built in battery. So to me it would have the same problem as the twist of once the battery is dead you have to buy a new unit vers just replacing the battery.

Oh alright see I learn something new everyday. That is the thing that drove me away from the iTaste MVP. And for that much I dont think it would be worth it.

Pays to buy a Vamo with a vendor warranty. I did.
You can get a Provari repaired, but there can be a cost. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...3329-feedback-provari-mini-4.html#post7974761

Not sure I'd say it has the best build anymore. The latest Sigelei Zmax seems to be up there on that.
For warranty it has the edge though.

I wouldn't buy a chinese disposable product from a vendor at all, and certainly wouldn't pay them for a warranty. There are too many places to get them wholesale for me to pay anything extra. That said, the vamo for $28 delivered is a great deal less expensive than the Zmax at $60 and I LIKE the vamo twice as much for half the price. When my $28 dies, I can replace it for $28 so why would I want to pay for a warranty? The hope is, of course, that it will last for a long time, and certainly much longer than an eGo.

In fact, had I not already committed to a coop for a Zmax, I wouldn't even bother ever buying another one now that the Vamo has arrived simply due to the price. The fact that I got a Zmax with a broken screen installed by the factory crooked makes me very wary. That kind of QC bothers me a LOT. If they allow that out of their door, what else are they skimping on that can't be seen so obviously? Now I have to go through the hassle of returning it etc. Not worth it to me to have to package it back up and send it back out and waiting for something that isn't even as good as one I got for half the price.

I didn't have to pay for the warranty on my ProVari. As for the QC, there are so many people who have bought them before me that attested to their durability and dependability. As my main PV, I am confident in it and the peace of mind KNOWING it will fire the same next year as it does today, and every day in between, is worth the cost. Would I buy 2? Nope. That is where the $28 vamo comes in.

It's really more of a collectors piece, a history of vaping if you will. A VERY nice part of history, but as I said, not something I think you'd want to vape on all day every day.

I'm just going to flat out say I'm not buying the "vamo". Every site I've gone to looks incredibly sketchy. The mod is incredibly ugly (IMO). I shouldn't have to worry about replacing my mod and the guy was saying earlier who cares if it breaks, its cheap. I care, I don't want to have to keep replacing something I shouldn't have to replace. That's just my thoughts on that mod, so for me it's not an option.

My sentiments exactly. :thumb: Many people don't mind buying the eGo batteries or the cheaper vV / vW mods knowing full well that they will have a limited expected lifetime. And if that is what works for their lifestyle, more power to them.

I tend to follow the other path. When I put down my hard earned cash (or plastic) for something I expect for it to last, and I expect the manufacturer of it to continue to provide support for it should it break or malfunction. Buying cheaper replaceable batteries in place of buying an entire device just makes more sense in my mind.

Was that a Sigelei or a Smoktech Zmax?
I known the Sigelei co-op had QC problems with their Zmax clones. I haven't read any reports from Smoktech Zmax users about bad screens though. Unless yours is the first.

I take care to avoid posting links to "sketchy" sites. Health Cabin are a registered ECF forum supplier. I haven't checked if Vapor Bank are but people have reported very good service and the owner going the extra mile.
Can understand if you don't want a Vamo - those two vendor sites are good sites though.

With the disposables I expect a limited lifetime, but then I have ego size pvs that have well outlasted my expectations.
With a cheaper mod - not always my expectation that it will have a short lifetime. Depends what we mean by cheaper though I guess. A $40 Vamo is surprisingly sturdy. But I don't need a lifetime warranty for a $40 purchase. I have electrical goods that have lasted years and cost me next to nothing. So we'll see with the Vamo. I don't assume a cheaper mod won't last a reasonable amount of time. I've seen posts here from veterans with cheap mods they've been vaping for over a year that are still holding up fine. Having said that - I have back ups for my back ups. I think that's essential with any pvs.
The Smoktech Zmax cost more, but I have a 6 month warranty. Months in with it now and it has held up to drops and heavy vaping. I don't think I would want a lifetime warranty with any pv. Even 2 years for $120 pv is not a necessity for me. It is for some I guess, but at that price, after a couple of years I will probably buy a new pv, if I haven't already anyway. :)

My close friend has a Segeli and he told me last night at our Vape meet that the night prior, the Segeli, which he stated is closing in on Provari quality had a glaring problem that he just discovered. For some odd reason, the 510 connector is a press fit and it popped out on him. He had it dangling by wires. He is going to try and jbweld it to keep it solid but that does not bode well.
