VV sometimes doesn't work at all for some people.
Some just love 3.7V and some love VV.
I suggest he try a VV before shelling out any money on them.

My close friend has a Provari and I love it. I like that you can adjust till you get exactly dialed to your own taste, so that isn't a problem here haha. Just seeing what all VV's people think are worth the money if they think that is the route I should take. Sorry it wasn't stated prior.

I would say the BOLT and a ViVi Nova tank

Any reason you would choose that over the other? Just curious since everyone else went with the VV option. And not to bash you or the vivi nova tank its just not for me. I have one and I disliked the taste compared to my carto tank, but clearly that is a personal preference.

How are the buttons?

I find them fine, nice click and very responsive.

I don't have anything to compare with besides an ego battery, but what I like over what I've seen the provari do, is that you don't have to click through a menu to see ohms/volts/watts. Click and hold the left button to display one, click and hold the right button to see the other (mine's packed away in my suitcase for my trip so I can't check at the moment.) Click and hold both together to change between vv and vw.

For me anyway, it's been great.

IMHO, the clear choice is a VV device for sure. I've used regular e-cigs, eGos, quite a few different mods and I find the best ones are the variable voltage mods. Once you have a proper setup, bumping up the voltage slowly helps you discover nuances in some of your juices that you might not have noticed before at lower voltages. I also like the added feature of being able to check resistance without having to use my multimeter and I like the protected circuitry. Another reason you might want a VV is if you start exploring RBA's. I've used plenty of Vivi Novas and Smoktech DCT's. I really like the DCT's but I think the Novas diminish the taste of my juices a bit. RBA's, when setup correctly, unlock tons of vapor and flavor.

As for which device to get, I think the choice is obvious. Your budget allows for a Provari. Just go for it. There are plenty of other respectable, capable mods out there. I own several different ones. But the Provari is the most popular for a very simple reason. It's still the one that's most imitated but never quite duplicated.

And as stated earlier, the only difference between the regular Provari and the mini is the lower vape times with the mini. You can get an extension cap for the mini and use a bigger battery but then you end up with almost the same height as a regular Provari. Either choice is a winner.

Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy and stay off analogs. Good Luck and Happy Vaping!

First off I had heard from a couple sources that the bolt's wiring is to small of a gauge to handle the full 10 watts that the kick can produce. But of course that is what I heard no first hand. What I do know is that the kick runs fine in my silver bullet and my prescise+ 18650 at around 8.5 watts oh so sweet! One thing is you have to keep that baby lubed with noalox it has all brass connections and corrodes quik. I have noticed it fires better on an all mechanical mod. Second if you wish to go the varivolt route of course the provari if you got the cash. My wife got my satin black w/blue led for my birthday. Straight heaven. There is also the sigelei zmax you can find if you google it. Ive been vaping on that for a couple days and the menu and readout is quit nice and the pulse width variable wattage is something else! That's all I got for now

I like the bolt + vivi nova combo, but I am going to be upgrading to a VV device. The ZMax seems to fit the bill for a moderately price device. SteamMonkey.com has them. I've heard good things about the Vamo which is a great bit cheaper, but I'm not sure about availability.

The Vamo is available a few places now. Here's a couple of vendors:

Health Cabin have them in China (registered forum supplier, as are the ones I mention above). $39 - they call it the eGo APV.
eGo Variable Volt/Watt APV V2 (Only Body) [D-B4 APV] - $39.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
It pays to check the shipping option. They have been offering cheap DHL shipping to some places - which is fast courier and is tracked every step of the way from departure to final delivery. I bought one from Health Cabin and it reached me in 3 days.

Vapor Bank in the US have the Vamo for $47.

Hey all this is my first thread I am posting and I am happy to finally be apart of the ECF. So I currently am rocking a Smoktech Bolt with the extension for the 18650 battery, Smoktech 6ml DCT, and a 2ohm single coil Smoktech carto.

If you have an anodized Bolt you'll need to sand inside the extension piece - otherwise you won't get a connection with the kick. If it's not anodized then should be fine to just kick it. Quite a few people have kicked their Bolts.

I consider the Provari to be the defacto device every other vendor tries to beat. So far no one has done it in my book. The new Segeli is close but there are still some factors that need fixing. When it all comes down to it, nothing beats the build factor, the ease of use and the customer service of Provape when dealing with a Provari.
I have been using a Provari for over a year and I have not found another device that I will use more.

It doesn't really need to be. VW is a very nice thing but if you use VV enough, you get a feel for what voltages to use and it comes as second nature what to set it at. Variance in the resistance of a device doesn't just change over night in large numbers so it doesn't have to be extremely precise.
The Acu-set technology that Provape uses is top notch.

There is a Provari subforum.

There are tons of sub forums all over the place. What is your point? I don't mean to sound like a fanboy but I am just telling it like it is. There are many mods that are great for great prices. I personally like the gunmetal lambo along with others that are out there. I was just helping out the OP. If you have the money and do not mind spending it, may as well get the best.
