I'm not exactly new here, I've been lurking for ages. I was taken in by the Smoking Everywhere scam about a year back, gave up on e-cigs because of the hassle, and have finally found my way back.

I'm looking for a new e-cig, a good one, that I won't have to replace any time soon (I know I'll need to replace atomizers ect..)

I've read VERY good reviews of the VP1 set from VAPRLIFE ($99), however I got onto the MyVaporStore.com site and found a DSE 801 set for $42. The differences I noted in the specs are:

VP1: 3.7v 360mAh

DSE 801: Normal Working Voltage: 3.2V-4.2V, 280 mAh

Also, the VP1 had 'protected batteries' in the picture. Now... I've only used a smoking everywhere that didn't have batteries at all, just the battery stick that you recharged (and it sucked). The DSE 801 doesn't look like it uses batteries.
I don't know as much as I feel like I should so here's the question: which one do yall think? Will the voltage make that much of a difference in vapor (I don't want to get a mod)? Thanks!!

The Dse 801 definetly uses batteries. It also is not a mini but a pen style which means it is longer than a reg cig which has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are larger capacity so less filling and the batteries being larger will give a longer charge than my mini dse 901 the other model you asked about I know nothing about.

The 801 pen style battery will be enclosed like your Smoking Everywhere battery. With the VP1 you will have access to the battery. Not much difference in the mAh. And the voltage is basically the same as in most non-mod'ed ecigs - 3.7v. Voltage will make a difference if you go to a 5V mod. But it isn't necessary to get a good vape.

I like the style of the VP1 and if it weren't for the fact that I have 510s, nicostick and janty stick, with a protege on the way ;-) It would be a top consideration. The 801 cart on the Janty Stick (which also has the 360mAh batt) is nice and large - 3x plus, larger than the mini (510, 901) carts to where top offs are less frequent.

Frankly between the two you mentioned you couldn't go wrong this time ;-) But between the two, I'd pick the VP1.

Id suggest the VP2. Uses a 14500 battery and will last much much longer. Id also suggest getting a 510 atty connector. You can always use adapters to go to 901 or 801 attys. The VP1 is not going to give you muc h longer than a stock 510 battery,

There are also good mods for the same price range like the protege from puresmoker.

See also GLV's from greatlakesvapor. They have the coolest looking mods..

Do a search for mods on the forum as there are many more..

Look at the Chuck from thagbuilt.com Very cool looking and work fantastic.

Wow those were quick replies! Thank you guys so much  I really appreciate the advice.

Kent, I see what you mean about the enclosed battery and I think I like the VP1 option better as well. I don't like those enclosed batteries, and the replacements for the DSE 801 are almost twice the cost of the VP1.

Looks to me like the VP1 set has a higher starting cost but it'll be worth it in the long run considering batteries and atomizer cost ect..

Thanks again!

Thanks for the VP2 info. I was 'out of my neighborhood' ;-) I've read up on them but never had either and wasn't sure of the specifics. Always liked the looks of them as well as their functionality and a veteran poster wv2win recommended them as well.
