I'm curious to see what the experienced people say. I've never heard that. I can't imagine why you would need a battery to sit before use.

Well, that's a first for me. I've lost count how many posts I've read on batteries and have never heard of it.

Good luck and Happy Vaping!! :vapor:

That is exactly what I thought too but since it is my first mod I thought I could never be too careful.

Never heard that either. If your batteries are warm after charging and you are a chain vaper from hell then it might be a good idea.

I figured the same thing, since I do vape quite a bit, I figured letting them cool for a few min would be a bad idea but not quite as long as they suggested.

It's referenced in Baditude's blog, but actually in a post by Royalgate-_______________________________________________

Rest batteries after charging
One commonly-reported factor in almost all the incidents we hear of where batteries failed violently while in use is that they were taken directly off the charger and then used immediately, at which point they failed.

Because of this, we think it may be a good idea to rest batteries after charging them. This advice will not be found in the usual 'reference bibles' on batteries, but we see more and different reports than others. Therefore we now advise:

Do not use batteries directly after charging them. Use a battery or batteries you previously charged, and that have rested for several hours. This is especially important if using a stacked pair for higher voltage, as statistically the risk is far higher.

The whole thing can be found in the library on the link above.

Great to read where a local shop knew their stuff. I walked into a new shop around here and overheard employee telling a first timer she didn't have to wash tanks before using them out of the mfg box. Newbie asked about cleaning the coils as she heard others talking about it making them last and taste better. Employee told her that was "bunk and not necessary...just replace the heads which we sell here".

I've never let a battery sit after charging. Once i pull it off the charger, it goes right in.

I have a Vamo V5 myself, and have never had a problem. Granted, I don't use it as often as I used to since I got my MVP 2, but it still gets used now and then.

The question is this: What batteries are you using? It could be something in the chemical makeup of the battery, as well as the brand. There are a few brands of batteries that people have reported problems with, so that might be the case here.

I am no battery expert, but if you are using a quick charger and the batteries heat up then yes I would say let them cool for awhile before you use them. However if they are cool to the touch since you are using a regulated mod I don't think you are going to have any issues with using them right off the charger. If you were using a Mechanical Mod and sub-ohms builds, then totally different story :)

I guess that answers it. Seems from the link that there is no definitive proof but circumstantial suggest to rest them before use. Good safe practice. Couldn't hurt and I guess its better to be safe than sorry in this case. Thanks for the links and info friends!!! :toast:
I am a believer in always being safe over sorry lol

The guys at my local shop really seem to know their stuff. I have had nothing but good experiences with them.
