Safety in vaping is all about the battery and its CDR [continuous discharge (amp) rating].
I believe there may be a battery for a 26650 mod that does have a CDR higher than 30A. I saw this battery on Baditudes blog: Panasonic 26650 CGR2650A 26650mAh 50A
Agreed. Check out the mAh (mili amp hours) rating for length of use, but safe "continuous discharge rate" is the very most important part of any sized battery suitable for vaping.
I should have worded the last part a little different. I try to be overly safe with my mods but what does or can you do different with a 26650 mod then an 18650 mod??
You can get a little more battery life depending on the mah rating. You can get a little bit higher of an amp limit. But some 26650 mods have a higher voltage drop than 18650 mods.
Both sized mods are essentially the same except for size regarding functionality. They will both do the same thing. You will find you have more choices when it comes to 18650 sized mods vs 26650 probably due to demand. I'm just guessing on that last part regarding demand.
Watch videos on youtube of a 26650 and an 18650 venting. The amp ratings on 26650s are higher, but if something does go wrong the battery has a much more violent explosion
I have been wondering the same thing. I got a 26650 mod because everyone said I could get more out of it. Lately trying to figure out what battery to buy for it I keep seeing the same 20 or 30 amp continuous discharge ratings??
